Yesterday, we marked a historic milestone for Boortmalt.   Our company celebrated its 100th Anniversary in the iconic Handelsbeurs Antwerpen alongside 400 guests, including diplomatic figures, partners, customers, and current and retired employees.   The event paid tribute to Boortmalt's history, from its original hometown of Boortmeerbeek and other family malthouses to its modern state-of-the-art malting plants across the globe.   In a theatre play, a musical performance, and through the speeches of AXEREAL chairman Jean-François Loiseau and Boortmalt CEO Yvan Schaepman, various aspects of our company's history were shared and remembered, including the story of the initial founder of Boortmeerbeek (at the roots of Boortmalt), Charles Hubert Thirionnet, the growth of Boortmalt across five continents, and the changes of our company's values over time.   The participants of this historic moment shared abundant joy, memories, and emotions.   We warmly thank all our guests and Masters of Malt for joining us last night to commemorate 100 years of striving, caring, exploration, and inspiration. #mastersofmalt #boortmalt #100anniversary #anniversary #handelsbeurs #event #celebration #malt #malting #beer #brewing #whisky #distilling #distillers #brewers #yvanschaepman #axereal

☀ This summer has been full of exciting events for our craft family! 🍻 👉 Always faithful to their yearly tradition, Belgomalt organized the Pure Local BBQ. This event is known to bring farmers, maltsters, and agronomists of the Pure Local community together and reward them for their special accomplishments within the community. Congratulations once again to this year's Pure Local Farmer of the Year, Etienne Allard! Brasil Brau is the largest professional event in the beer industry in Latin America. It regroups all the major players in the national and international beer sectors every two years. This edition gathered more than 120 brands, that showcased their products, services, and technologies to 8,000 professionals over 3 days. 👉 Earlier this month, our whole craft family attended a three-day summit in Orléans, France, the homeland of their sister brand, Les Maltiers, and AXEREAL. 🎯 The SBTi approved Boortmalt’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target.   Our commitments include the absolute reduction of scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42.0% by FY2030 from a FY2023 base year and scope 3 GHG emissions from fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream and downstream transportation and distribution, and processing of sold products 42.0% within the same timeframe.   We also commit to the reduction of FLAG (Forest, Land, and Agriculture) GHG emissions 30.3% by FY2030.  Our goal is to actively engage with 2/3rds of our supplier base to enable the transition to regenerative agriculture practices, which puts carbon directly back into the soil.    👉 More information can be found on the website of https://lnkd.in/gUqg6KM Science Based Targets initiative #mastersofmalt #boortmalt #malt #malting #sbti #emissionsreductions #climate #climateaction #climatecrisis

Scenes from this year’s Pure Local BBQ 📸 Our annual Pure Local BBQ brings Pure Local #farmers, #brewers and #maltsters together to celebrate the approaching harvest with the key people within the Pure Local community. This year, the event took place at the magnificent old square farm of one of our Pure Local farmers, Etienne Allard. We enjoyed visiting #barley fields in the area and hearing about the crops from our farmers and #agronomists. It was particularly fascinating hearing about the #regenerative #farming practices they use. Then we headed back to the farm for a BBQ, where the Pure Local Farmer of the Year Award was handed out. The 2024 award went to our host Etienne Allard Congratulations! 🎉   It was a fantastic day out. Boortmalt Malting Course 2024 was a blast!   This year, we hosted industry professionals from the brewing, distilling, and, for the first time, food sectors for an entire week of visits, hands-on activities, and conferences.   Our program covered all topics around malt, its applications, specialties, and prospects. Speakers shared their expertise across a range of topics, including raw barley, the malting process, whisky, the barley market, craft beers, malt innovation, and sustainability.   The participants of this year's edition showed genuine dynamism and investment throughout the program.
