The European Commission’s Roadmap for Women’s Rights reaffirms the EU’s commitment to advancing gender equality in both internal and external actions. While there’s always room for improvement, we’re pleased to see some key positive steps, including: ✅ A firm stance against the backlash on women’s rights worldwide. ✅ Securing sustainable funding for women's rights organisations identified as a key priority ✅ Alignment of the next Gender Action Plan (GAP) with the MFF timeline (2028–2034). ✅ Recognition of diplomacy as a tool to promote gender equality on the global agenda. What’s next? 📌 Strengthening accountability mechanisms & budget allocation to ensure real impact. 📌 Continuing the human rights-based, gender-transformative, and intersectional approach in GAP IV. 📌 A stronger commitment to SRHR as a fundamental right. #GenderEquality #EUAction #WomensRights 🔗➡️ https://lnkd.in/dAYQjQdG

CONCORD is among the 17 organisations that signed a letter to the EU Council urging to adopt new ways of raising EU own resources. By considering further measures that include new taxation options on extreme wealth, fossil fuel profits and aviation, the EU can ensure its commitments to global partners and secure financial stability. 🔗 👉 Read the open letter: https://lnkd.in/d_5tEgac

We joined over 360 civil society organisations in Europe to say #NoToOmnibus. The EU can't be a reliable partner if it erodes its own commitments to sustainable development and human rights. We are urging the European Parliament and the EU Council to say: ❌ No to weakening the #CSDDD 🌍 No to rolling back sustainability laws ⚖️ No to corporate impunity 🔗Read the statement here: https://lnkd.in/dkpivV_r

When profit comes first, who gets left behind? Too often, it’s women, girls, & marginalized communities who bear the cost. Our latest featured perspective examines why EU foreign policy must prioritize human rights over trade—because true gender equality means putting people before profit. As the EU's multiannual budget is being shaped, this discussion is more important than ever. 👉 Read on the piece by Benedicta Oyewole (She/Her) – Community Engagement and Partnerships Lead, IPPF Africa Region: bit.ly/4hoAfnH #MFF #ODA #gender #Feminism #GenderEquality #ForeignPolicy

🌍✊ This #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the power, resilience, and leadership of women and girls worldwide. But we cannot ignore the growing threats to gender equality: ⚠️ According to OECD DAC figures, global funding for gender equality is declining ⚠️ The global gag rule and USAID closure continue to have catastrophic effects on women’s and girls' lives ⚠️ Anti-rights movements are gaining ground, further shrinking space for women’s rights. The next #EUbudget must back its gender equality commitments with real funding! We need stronger gender mainstreaming, dedicated resources for gender-specific projects, and direct support for women’s rights organisations. As we push for action, we need feminist, intersectional policymaking at the heart of EU external action. Our latest paper outlines 10 key principles to ensure EU policies truly support gender justice worldwide. Read it here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dazUp2W3 There is much to be done, but also much already being done. For #IWD, we want to highlight the crucial work of our members. Their work is a lifeline for women, girls, the LGBTQ community and minorities. Now more than ever, they need our solidarity and support. ▶️ THE RAIN WORKERS, Network for sexual and reproductive health - a Global Responsibility member 📹 Watch the campaign's video: https://lnkd.in/dAwvneni 🌐 Visit their website: https://lnkd.in/dbDHwZ3h ▶️ Oxfam / Oxfam EU office #PersonalToPowerful campaign 🌐 Visit the campaign's page: https://lnkd.in/dceGirjX 📗 Read the report: https://lnkd.in/dquPVCdw ▶️ IPPF European Network / IPPF Africa Region Stand Up project 📃 Read the blog post: https://lnkd.in/dbhrVwUz 🌐 Look at their post on funding in Africa: https://lnkd.in/dFextJjG
