This week at the European Parliament - I had an exchange of views with MEPs on the European Commission’s 2025 Work Plan. I outlined the key priorities under my responsibility, that I will be launching this year. Recap below👇
🚨 The Union of Skills – coming on March 5, was discussed at both committees. A strategic initiative, it will focus on helping people to acquire the talent and skills needed to succeed in the workforce including by re-skilling and up-skilling, and developing the necessary competencies needed by employers.

📌The Action Plan for Strengthening the European Pillar of Social Rights, which promotes social inclusion, equal opportunities, and fair working conditions.
📌The Roadmap for Quality Jobs, coming in the autumn - aimed at improving working conditions and ensuring stronger protection of workers’ rights.
📌The Evaluation of the European Labour Authority, a crucial step in assessing the need to strengthen its mandate.
📌The Revision of the Carcinogens, Mutagens, and Reprotoxic Substances Directive.
👉Committee on Culture and Education (CULT).
📌Erasmus+, a priority for me is to make this program more inclusive. Currently, only 17% of young people from vulnerable communities access Erasmus+.
📌 The European Universities Alliance – an initiative that fosters close collaboration between European universities to improve the quality of education and enhance the mobility of students and skills across Europe.
📌Lifelong Learning – the Union of Skills will be aimed not only at young people but also at adults who need to enhance their qualifications to adapt to the green and digital transitions.
📌 The European Degree – an important step toward a unified recognition of studies at the European level.
🤝 As I said at my confirmation hearing, I’m committed to working closely with the European Parliament to deliver concrete results for Europeans based on these priorities.
