On Thursday 11 March, ERTICO - ITS Europe, alongside key partners in the ITS community, marked a significant milestone in advancing gender diversity and inclusion! #TalkingITS In addition to our social campaign leading up to International Women's Day, we hosted an exclusive panel discussion on ‘Moving Beyond Manels: Addressing Gender Inequality in the ITS Industry’ at The Nine in Brussels. This event was part of a broader, industry-wide initiative, with parallel events taking place across the ITS community, including a webinar by Intelligent Transport Systems UK’s Women in ITS group, the Mujer e ITS event in Madrid, organised by our Partner Dirección General de Tráfico & ITS España as part of the Road to the ITS European Congress in Seville (19-21 May) and a panel discussion on Addressing Gender Equality in ITS Industry in Istanbul at Tech Istanbul. These initiatives reflect a strong public-private commitment to fostering diversity and empowering women in the sector, laying the groundwork for continued progress toward a more inclusive industry. #TalkingITS Stephanie Leonard (TomTom) Ruth Lopian (European Commission) Emőke Péter (The Brussels Binder), Rita Bhandari Pooja Khati Joanna Mikolajczyk Valerie Graindorge Didier Gorteman Joost VANTOMME Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/egN56WEy
Incredible. Inspiring. Impactful. These were some of the words used to describe last night’s ‘Moving Beyond Manels: Addressing Gender Inequality in the ITS Sector’ event in Brussels! We brought together ITS & mobility community in Brussels for a crucial discussion on female representation and inclusion in panels, sparking ideas on how to keep up the momentum for women in ITS and mobility. Huge thanks to our panellists Stephanie Leonard from TomTom, Ruth Lopian from European Commission, Emőke Péter from The Brussels Binder, and Rita Bhandari from ERTICO - ITS Europe! 🔹 In Spain, we jointly hosted a half-day event with Dirección General de Tráfico and ITS España to highlight the role of women in the Spanish ITS sector. The discussion encouraged greater visibility and invited them to take the stage at the #ITSSeville2025. 🔹 In the UK, Intelligent Transport Systems UK, one of the main supporters of the ITS World Congress 2027, explored key themes, including diversity in ITS, the growth of female leadership, and how we can create future-ready environments for a more balanced and resilient workforce. Now, it is time to take the next step and that starts with bringing more diverse voices to the table. We are inviting expressions of interest from female industry experts.
