Last month, HERKUL KU Leuven, in partnership with Una Europa, hosted Pioneering Futures: Rethinking Cultural and Heritage Ecosystems in the historic De Hoorn, Leuven. Yesterday we joined the Pioneering Futures event organised by HERKUL - KU Leuven Institute for Cultural Heritage & Una Europa, as part of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024. Along with fellow CSOs, policymakers & academics we explored the future of cultural & heritage ecosystems in Europe & beyond ⬇ On behalf of Europa Nostra & the European Heritage Hub, Policy Manager Dimitra Kizlari stated 💬 “The #EuropeanHeritageHub is our mechanism to stimulate connections within the heritage ecosystem to create sustained social impact now & for the future” It was great to hear Miruna Găman, ARCHE project, echo the need for more structured cooperation across the sector, a core mission of the Hub 🤝 “The grand challenges of our time don’t wait. Una Europa partner universities are rooted in our cities and cultures, steeped in heritage and history. Since the alliance’s foundation in 2019, Una Europa has made significant strides to advance an ambitious vision for #culturalheritage in education, research and societal impact to shape our shared future for the better. 📖Most recently, to mark #WorldHeritageDay, we published the first edition of our Una Europa Cultural Heritage Book Series, a diverse collection of essays on dissonant heritage written by doctoral researchers from across the alliance.
