Walking the talk: In July 2024, within just one month, six European #hydrogen projects reached final investment decision (#FID), collectively representing nearly 1 GW of #electrolyser capacity, set to be built by 2030. ➡️ bp Aberdeen Hydrogen Energy Limited: 10 MW renewable hydrogen facility in Aberdeen, Scotland to be operational by 2028. ➡️ bp Castellón Refinery in Spain: 200 MW electrolysis capacity in the first phase, expected to be operational by 2026. ➡️ EWE AG Clean Hydrogen Coastline: 280 MW electrolysis project in East Frisia, Germany to be operational by 2027. ➡️ Shell: 100 MW renewable hydrogen electrolyser in Germany to be operational by 2027. ➡️ TotalEnergies and RWE: 795 MW OranjeWind offshore wind farm in the Netherlands to power 350 MW electrolyser projects, to be fully operational by 2028. ➡️ Virya Energy, HyoffGreen, and Messer SE & Co. KGaA: 25 MW renewable hydrogen production plant in Zeebrugge, Belgium to be operational by 2026.   Stay tuned for an update on industry progress in FID around the world in the Council’s next Hydrogen Insights report, set to be released in September 2024.

The ACES Delta project is set to redefine the future of energy by creating one of the world's largest renewable #hydrogen production and storage facilities. Currently under construction in the US, the project will turn renewable energy into hydrogen using electrolysis and store it in salt caverns for flexible, year-round energy use. Key Highlights: 🔹 Innovative Collaboration: Bringing together the expertise of our members Mitsubishi Power Americas and Chevron to lead the charge in renewable hydrogen technology. 🔹 Scale: Aiming to produce up to 100 metric tons of hydrogen daily using renewable energy. 🔹 Long-Duration Energy Storage: Two massive salt caverns, each roughly as deep as the Empire State Building is tall, capable upon start up of storing more than 300 GWh of dispatchable clean energy. ACES is a great example of how collaboration and innovation can drive us towards a sustainable energy future.
