𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆’𝘀 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 After intensive planning, the transmission system operators have officially submitted their application for the hydrogen core network to the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA). This marks the beginning of a nationwide, efficient hydrogen network of 9,666 km, with the first pipelines to be converted next year. By 2032, the core grid will gradually connect central consumption and production hubs as well as storage and import centers.   The hydrogen network itself will be set up by converting existing gas transport pipelines. This conversion will enable the efficient transport of hydrogen over long distances and shall support the hydrogen economy in Germany and Europe. By creating this core network, the decarbonization of industry and energy supply can be further driven and interest in investing in the hydrogen economy can be increased. As a manufacturer of electrolyzers based in Augsburg, we are ready to support this transformative journey. Especially since the planned hydrogen network will run close to Augsburg. Our second site in Hamburg will also benefit, as the network will also run close to Hamburg. This strengthens Hamburg’s position as a hydrogen pioneer and central hub for hydrogen. Today, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Robert Habeck and Lower Saxony’s Minister President, Stephan Weil joined RWE for the inauguration of their 14MW pilot electrolyser plant in Lingen, Germany. Under the slogan "Wasserstoff marsch!", in an inspiring speech, RWE CEO Markus Krebber officially opened the plant today.   4MW of the pilot plant are utilising ITM’s TRIDENT stack platform, and have been integrated turnkey by Linde Engineering.   The other 10MW of the pilot plant are based on alkaline technology provided by Sunfire.   The plant will generate up to 270 kg of green hydrogen per hour using electricity from renewable sources.   Dennis Schulz, ITM CEO, said "It has been a privilege to attend the inauguration alongside esteemed politicians, customers and partners. #SOFC system as a key element: ✅ We put it to the test! In our field trial and largest pilot project to date at the Schwieberdingen Research and Development Center in Germany. Our 200-kW #SOFC system is part of an integrated energy concept that combines electricity from a variety of renewable sources. The pilot project is being used to test various aspects, including performance range and heat extraction, providing important insights for our further development. Energy Observer est rentré à bon port, après 7 années autour du monde. Nous étions nombreux à les accueillir à Saint Malo le 14 juin dernier. Cette aventure, que j’ai accompagnée à son démarrage en soutenant le partenariat avec les équipes d’Air Liquide, est porteuse d’espoir et d’enseignement sur notre rapport aux énergies et à l’usage que nous en faisons.   Energy Observer est devenu un objet totem qui s’est construit autour de 7 technologies clés : solaire, éolien, batterie électrique, désalinisation, électrolyseurs, stockage hydrogène et pile à combustible. C’est un totem aussi grâce à l’imaginaire positif construit par une équipe résiliente et engagée, qui a su faire de cette aventure un matériel pédagogique unique. Ce bateau est un symbole de résilience grâce à la technologie et à l’adaptation au rythme des énergies. En cela, il est la démonstration d’une sobriété énergétique maîtrisée. « Qui va piano, va sano e va lontano ». Il est urgent de sortir d’une approche compulsive et boulimique de notre rapport au temps et à l’énergie. Réside là le plus grand challenge de nos sociétés modernes. C’est aussi ce que nous enseigne cette épopée de la résilience.   C’était un plaisir d’être partenaire de l’escale new yorkaise d’Energy Observer avec Hy24 et John Cockerill. A truly incredible, inspiring couple of days at Breakthrough Energy #BESummit24 at Tobacco Dock in London. ZeroAvia showcased our zero-emission aircraft propulsion technology at the event alongside a number of Breakthrough’s portfolio companies. Some incredible, game-changing solutions on display, from nuclear fusion to methane-busting cattle vaccines. And hydrogen-electric aviation of course! It was an honor to spend some time chatting through our technology with Bill Gates, both to update him on the latest developments and also to join Yalda Hakim of Sky News in conversation.
