⚛️ Building the future of the nuclear industry!   🤝 Tractebel sponsored the largest European Nuclear Society Young Generation Network Core Committee Meeting, hosted by the BNS-YG - Belgian Nuclear Society Young Generation in Brussels. It brought together 50 participants from 19 European nuclear societies and 3 observers representing The United Nations-Nuclear Young Generation (UN-NYG) ), WiN Global and the International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC).   ❤️ The ENS-YGN fosters networking and collaboration among the nuclear industry's young generation. The meeting's success again demonstrates the motivation and enthusiasm of the next generation of nuclear professionals.   💡 The meeting provided an opportunity to share views, discuss upcoming ENS-YGN activities, and the promotion of nuclear science and technologies among youngsters. 🌊 Reinforcing Tractebel's position in Offshore Wind!   🌬️ Last week, Tractebel, jointly with IMDC, participated in the annual Belgian Offshore Cluster vzw Days 2025! The event brought together over 70 exhibitors and 1,600 attendees, all united by a shared passion for the future of offshore renewable energy.   🌍 Our colleagues, Tom Ghenne, Mert Çandarli, Jonathan Franck, Luca Barbetti, Annelies Bolle and Theofano (Fani) Koutrouveli were honoured to welcome delegations from Bulgaria, Greece, Norway, and Brazil to our booth. They had insightful exchanges about the promising prospects of new offshore wind developments and the challenges of floating wind technology. It was inspiring to witness the industry's commitment to innovation and sustainability. 🌱   🌅 Tractebel has a proven track record in landmark European offshore wind energy projects. ⚛ Expertise sharing on radwaste management at a global level!   Our experts participate in the WM Symposia, Inc 2025 on radioactive waste management in Phoenix, USA, from March 9 to 13, 2025. They showcase their outstanding expertise by holding a booth jointly with SCK CEN, co-chairing sessions and presenting a paper.   👨🔬 Kevin Simon presented Tractebel’s experience with "chemical system decontamination of reactors' primary system" jointly with his ENGIE Belgium Electrabel colleague, Steven Van Ierssel, during one of the sessions dedicated to nuclear power plants' decontamination and decommissioning, co-chaired by Serge Vanderperre. Chemical system decontamination involves using chemicals to remove radioactive contaminants from the internal surfaces of piping and equipment. Hoje, vamos conhecer a geóloga Nicole Borchardt, que, após 25 anos de carreira, aceitou o desafio da Tractebel de atuar como ATO (Acompanhamento Técnico de Obra) no projeto PCH Foz do Estrela (Paraná). "O fato inédito deste convite era ser a única representante da projetista residente na obra, assumindo não somente as responsabilidades inerentes à minha profissão, mas também representando todas as demais áreas civis em campo." Ela destaca como saldo dessa experiência a “melhor compreensão das interfaces que compõe um projeto de hidroenergia, além da obtenção de maior destreza para lidar com cliente”.
