>PORT OF NANAIMO: salute to summer with some impressive stats. Port of Nanaimo
While we are sad to see summer go, this busy and exciting time has given us a great opportunity to reflect. We are incredibly proud of the year we’ve had so far at the Port of Nanaimo, and we wanted to share some of our 2024 highlights to date: Passenger Transportation: Through our domestic transportation partners, we saw 5 million passengers come and go from Vancouver Island! Deep Sea Vessel Traffic: Our deep-sea anchorages had 150 ships anchor from all over the world! Cargo Volumes: Our facilities moved 2.7 million metric tonnes of cargo, ranging from logs and forest products to automobiles and containers! Cruise Ship Visits: We welcomed 2 cruise ships this year, marking a new era of cruising here at the Port of Nanaimo. We are excited to grow the business further year over year! #PortdeNanaimo #Opérationsmaritimes #VancouverIsland #Transportdepassagers #Naviresdehautemer #Traficdemarchandises #Statistiquesportuaires #Commerceettransports

"More than 8,500 train cars move goods in and out of the port in Hamilton each year," says Larissa Fenn, vice president of corporate affairs for the Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority. " These supply chains are vital to products Canadians use every day, and it won't take long before consumers start to feel it in terms of price and availability of goods," Fenn said.
