"The costs of climate change aren’t theoretical. Canadian citizens are already paying for them daily. Currently, across Canada, climate-related damages are estimated to cost the average Canadian $700 each year, disproportionately affecting low-income households," says Clean Energy Canada's Mark Zacharias. About us
Clean Energy Canada is an initiative of the Centre for Dialogue at Simon Fraser University, in Vancouver, British Columbia. We work to accelerate our nation’s transition to clean and renewable energy systems. We do so by telling the story of the global shift to clean and low-carbon energy sources and conducting original research, hosting dialogues, and inspiring and informing policy leadership. We envision a future in which our nation has one of the most advanced energy systems in the world, having significantly reduced its carbon emissions by the middle of this century. In our vision, Canada has become a leader in clean and renewable energy production, consumption, and innovation—benefiting citizens socially, environmentally and economically.

🌏⚡️South Australia is "trailblazing" the transition to renewable energy, with solar and wind now making up 75% of the state's electricity generation. Every other home has solar. "The bipartisan support for renewable energy (here) has been really significant. It’s given investors a sense of certainty," says energy expert Gabrielle Kuiper.
South Australia is aiming for 100% renewable energy by 2027. It’s already internationally ‘remarkable’

"The Parliamentary Budget Officer's report highlights the fundamental importance of Canada’s Electric Vehicle Availability Standard in building out a public charging network and driving EV prices down... Like the fossil fuel sector, Canada’s auto industry has a responsibility to do its part in combating its significant contribution to climate change—in this case by building competitively priced EVs for every type of driver," says Clean Energy Canada's Joanna Kyriazis. 💰 "North American automakers have presented China as a sort of Goliath to their David. But the real Davids — Canadians like the family above — just want an affordable EV to make their life a little easier. A 100% tariff sends a clear message, indeed: we forgot about you," write Clean Energy Canada's Joanna Kyriazis and Rachel Doran in a new op-ed. #cdnpoli #climateaction #autos #electricvehicle #affordability #costofliving
