At D-Wave, we're committed to harnessing the power of quantum technology to uncover new scientific insights. For almost 15 years, our annealing quantum computing systems have been supporting researchers and academics worldwide, including Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), University of Southern California's Viterbi School of Engineering and Germany’s Forschungszentrum Jülich. Our collaborations with leading institutions like these are driving advancements in quantum research, particularly in quantum simulation—an area where our quantum computing systems offer distinct advantages over classical approaches. With our fast-anneal protocol, researchers can perform coherent quantum annealing on systems with thousands of qubits, minimizing thermal noise and enhancing performance. In April 2024, we made the fast-anneal feature available through our Leap™ quantum cloud service. Customers have since submitted over 2.5 million jobs using it, reflecting a highly positive response to the feature’s ability to support their research efforts. Read this new article by Dr. Trevor Lanting, D-Wave's chief development officer, to learn more about how D-Wave is shaping the future of quantum computing and quantum-fueled research. https://lnkd.in/gHwH6qSp #QuantumResearch

The telecom industry is grappling with mounting operational challenges, ranging from 5G rollouts to rapidly evolving customer expectations. Could hybrid quantum help telcos maintain a competitive edge? Today we’re announcing that NTT DOCOMO, Japan’s largest mobile operator, plans to deploy a hybrid-quantum solution, built on D-Wave technology, that optimizes paging signals in mobile networks. Using the solution, DOCOMO found that it can reduce congestion at base stations by decreasing paging signals during peak calling times by 15%, potentially leading to increased efficiencies and lowered infrastructure costs. The approach addresses need for more efficient paging, also known as the process of locating mobile devices within a network. Optimizing this process can enhance both network performance and user experience, both of which are coming under strain as traffic increases. #QuantumComputing, #QuantumOptimization, #telecommunications Read the news here: https://lnkd.in/gqE_kRCN

We’ve captured some of the highlights from our participation in last week’s Quantum Computing User Forum held at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. D-Wave's Catherine G. Potts, Ph.D. shared an impressive Kibble-Zurek demo at our booth — demonstrating annealing quantum computing processes within a coherent regime. Thanks to our Leap™ quantum cloud service operating at jaw-dropping speeds, she ran problems live on our various quantum processing units (QPUs) - without delays or lengthy queuing. This is quantum computing in real time! #QuantumComputing #QCUP #Innovation #QuantumResearch

To successfully launch a quantum application, a proof of concept (PoC) is first needed to demonstrate a project’s feasibility. It involves mapping a business-relevant problem and testing it using quantum computing technology to validate its potential benefits. We offer a hands-on, collaborative approach to that makes it easy to identify and build a PoC that could address your computationally complex problem through quantum and hybrid quantum technology. We recently worked with Ford Otosan to help the auto manufacturer understand how it could use annealing quantum computing technology to optimize production of its Ford Transit line. The resulting quantum optimization PoC revealed ways to minimize downtime, maintain efficiency and address the need for real-time decision making. The manufacturer has developed three quantum optimization algorithms and is looking to expand to upstream and downstream production lines. Hear about Ford Otosan’s success with its recent quantum optimization PoC here: https://lnkd.in/gMa_Cidr #Quantum #Manufacturing #QuantumOptimization
