Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC) reposted this
As brands, publishers, and ad tech providers operating in Canada plan for 2025, I want to remind my network of the crucial role that supporting your local advertising and marketing associations plays in our industry's health. Budget constrictions can affect marketing and community engagements, and associations often fall within that bucket. But it's to the detriment of our industry as a whole. I've seen firsthand the invaluable work done by organizations like the Canadian Marketing Association, CMDC (Canadian Media Director's Council), IAB Canada, Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA), A2C - Association des agences de communication créative, ICA - Institute of Canadian Agencies, and Ad Standards / Les Normes de la publicité. From bringing in new talent to our sector, educating folks looking to make a career change, to government relations work, research, and the networking opportunities they create through committees & events that help you grow your business. You can't discount this work. The association I work for, the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC), is actively seeking new program participants. If you're curious about AdChoices or why companies partner with us, please reach out (jford@daac.ca) -- I'd love to chat. AdChoices empowers companies to demonstrate their commitment to consumer privacy through transparent and responsible interest-based advertising. By participating, companies signal to their audiences that they prioritize data transparency and consumer choice, strengthening trust and setting a high standard in our industry (find us at YourAdChoices.ca). Also, I'd be remiss in also not mentioning AdClub of Toronto and NABS Canada who do so much good for individuals working in our sector. All these groups can offer you so much -- the benefits can be surprising if you take the time to engage and learn. So, as you plan for 2025, please budget in ways to support these associations through partnership, sponsorship, purchasing tickets for events, training for your staff, and/or program participation. At the very least, give them all a follow. We're stronger together as an industry!
