Thanks to free lighting upgrades, the Wasauksing First Nation saves over $21,000/per year! Through the SaveonEnergy Ontario First Nations Community Building Retrofit Program, the Wasauksing First Nation was eligible to fulfill energy upgrades and retrofits for their community. They received $149,000 to fulfill energy efficient lighting upgrades in their ice rink, water treatment plant, community complex, and more! The Canada Electricity Advisory Council (CEAC) has released their final report, "Powering Canada: A Blueprint for Success." The CEAC was given one year to provide this report that outlines pathways to reaching Canada's emissions goals affordably and reliably with a focus on Indigenous participation. The report outlines 28 recommendations directed at the federal government to facilitate within each province/territory.
