Congratulations to Jobber Grants recipients Jessica and Shane Day, owners of Day’s Heating and Cooling LLC, for being featured in Dayton Business Journal! Day’s Heating and Cooling LLC, a two-year-old HVAC company in Huber Heights, received a $10,000 grant that Shane and Jessica plan to use for vehicle branding, advanced tools, a new website, and providing free HVAC services to financially constrained individuals during the fall and winter seasons. Additionally, Shane, who serves on the advisory board of Wayne High School’s HVAC program, will use part of the funding to promote HVAC careers to the next generation of workers. Despite challenges like rising inflation and interest rates, the company has seen a 40% revenue increase in 2024 and aims to expand its workforce by 2025. To date, the Jobber Grants program has rewarded over 100 home service businesses across the U.S. and Canada with more than $600,000 USD for demonstrating excellence in their industries. Entrepreneurs and Jobber customers Chase Gallagher and Ryan Daniels have found success in the trades, building lucrative businesses in landscaping and pressure washing without college degrees. Gallagher’s landscaping business earns him about $250,000 annually, while Daniels, who left college, has saved $400,000 towards retirement through his pressure washing business. In this great CNBC Make It article both entrepreneurs highlight the advantages of trade work, including lower startup costs, high demand, and the potential for early retirement. They also emphasize that college isn't the right path for everyone, and fulfilling, successful careers can be found in blue-collar work.
