Did you know that 99% of athletes have competed on their period at an international competition? And 1 in 2 teens will skip sports or drop out all together because of their period. Knix will pay athletes to talk about their periods in their Sport Your Period™ initiative featuring former Olympian and advocate Megan Rapinoe. This movement was created to encourage athletes to lead by example, normalize the conversation around periods in sports and keep more teen athletes in the sports that they love. Moon Time Connections is an Indigenous-led period equity group working to increase the accessibility of period products and essentials in Northern Indigenous Communities. A Knix Fund grant recipient, Moon Time Connections is decolonizing the menstrual justice space by centering Indigenous ways of knowing—including cultural practices and perspectives surrounding one's Moon Time. Most recently, they have partnered with Food Banks Canada | Banques alimentaires Canada to foster greater access to menstrual education and care among those in northern and remote Communities. Because dignity of choice is central to period equity, funding has allowed the organization to offer a full spectrum of products—from period underwear to reusable pads—based on Community requests. Our Knix team has partnered with Monday Girl to host some incredible events at our stores across Canada and California.
