Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
About us
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish is the world's leading children's wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in Canada, and in 50 countries worldwide. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and more than 1,100 volunteers across the country grant more than one wish per day on average. Since 1983, Make-A-Wish Canada has granted over 38,606 wishes across the country; more than 1,400 last year alone. For more information about Make-A-Wish Canada, visit makeawish.ca.

Trust matters. That’s why we’re proud to announce that Make-A-Wish Canada has earned Imagine Canada’s National Standards accreditation! This accreditation is awarded to organizations that meet the highest standards for how they manage donations, communicate with supporters, and operate with transparency. It means that Make-A-Wish Canada has been rigorously reviewed and recognized for our commitment to responsible practices in financial management, fundraising and governance. We’re honoured to join a select group of just over 330 nonprofits in Canada who have earned this accreditation. Born with a rare genetic condition, Emily faced kidney failure at just 3 years old. Shortly after her 4th birthday, she received a life-changing kidney transplant from her own mom. 💙 Emily’s genetic condition also causes progressive hearing and vision loss, making her wish to see her favourite princesses and experience the magic of Walt Disney World all the more meaningful. Stories like Emily’s remind us why we do what we do. Last year, we granted 66 wishes to children who received kidney transplants or are living with severe kidney diseases. Each wish brings light and strength to families facing unimaginable challenges. 💫 #WorldKidneyDay #KidneyDonor #KidneyRecepient #Transplant #MakeAWishCanada
