Yesterday, with the support of Pinnacle Logistics Solutions (a #TeamVigilance preferred supplier) and the Acho Dene Koe First Nation, the main engines for the CCGS Terry Fox Vessel Life Extension were offloaded at Ramey's bend in Port Colbourne and transported to the Port Weller Dry Docks in St. Catharines. The cooperation on display yesterday highlights the strength of the Ontario industrial supply chain and is just one example of how WE ARE BRINGING SHIPBUILDING BACK TO ONTARIO. #ontariomade #madeincanada #

Today, The Ice Cream Truck made a special stop at the Hamilton Shipyard to show our appreciation for the men and women who demonstrate mettle every day. Thank you for your continued hard work - it does not go unnoticed. Port Weller is up next!

THE SHIPS OF PORT WELLER VOLUME 5: Hull No. 11 Scott Misener. Going back to where it all started, the Port Weller Dry Docks was awarded its first new-build contract in 1950. Christened Scott Misener on June 17th, 1951, the 199.3 meter long vessel was the largest vessel ever built by a Canadian Shipyard. The construction of the Scott Misener marked the start of the rebuilding of the Canadian-flagged commercial fleet after WWII, and the Port Weller Dry Docks were at the center of the post-war reconstruction effort. Today, the Port Weller Dry Docks has the capacity and capability to rebuild the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy’s small and medium vessel fleet. WE WILL BRING SHIPBUILDING BACK TO ONTARIO. #shipbuilding #shiprepair #ontariomade

MP for Carleton, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, and running to be Prime Minister of Canada
Met the workers who fix the ships that move the goods at the Ontario Shipyards in St. Catharines. Common sense Conservatives will lower taxes so those who do the work bring home more powerful paycheques. Let's bring it home: https://lnkd.in/ggAGv-pq

THE SHIPS OF PORT WELLER VOLUME 4: Hull No. 70 Canadian Ambassador. Measuring 222.5 meters with a registered gross tonnage of 24,230 tons, the Canadian Ambassador’s keel was laid at the Port Weller Dry Docks in March 1982. Christened June 11th, 1983, the Canadian Ambassador went from the drafting table to the open ocean in only fifteen short months. At a construction rate of 14.83 meters per month, the Port Weller Dry Docks was putting the most modern vessels in the water at a faster rate than most shipyards can only marvel at. At Ontario Shipyards, we have some big shoes to fill, but we will strive to make our predecessors proud, and we WILL BRING SHIPBUILING BACK TO ONTARIO. #shipbuilding #shiprepair #ontariomade
