However, this transition is not without potential challenges. This presentation will explore key hurdles associated with mass integration of EAF infrastructure, focusing on: energy grid variability, the future availability of scrap, and the quality of iron ore needed for effective EAF operations. 🥈 The dependence on differing energy grids raises concerns about the carbon intensity of the power generation assets between regions. Additionally, as the demand for scrap intensifies, questions arise regarding future supply constraints and recycling efficiency. Furthermore, iron ore used in EAF processes requires increasingly stringent specifications, and ensuring a high-quality feedstock remains a pressing issue. 🥉 This presentation will also delve into exploring the emerging solutions aimed at overcoming these challenges. His reputation as a trusted leader in structural steel design stems from his ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions that effectively address the complex challenges of modern construction. It was truly an honour and privilege to attend the graduation ceremonies for the first(!) cohort of Skills Ontario’s “Building a Skilled Workforce” program. This inspiring initiative supports participants, aged 18-29, in launching their careers in skilled trades. Each participant receives FREE comprehensive training in the skilled trades AND wrap-around support, including toolkits, transportation, and childcare assistance, to help them transition into their new roles! A massive thank you to Steelcon Group of Companies and their wonderful Strategic Leader in Talent Management & Organizational Development, Nafisa Kassam-Madhani for providing the cohort with an elite job placement and expert training.
