IYCMI: here are two ways to help us separate fact from fiction 👇 1️⃣ Beware of our biases: --Sometimes we forget what we should know (e.g., correlation is *not* causation) and accept evidence uncritically if it confirms what we would like to be true --On the flipside, we also are biased to reject "inconvenient truths" that contradict our world views 2️⃣ Check everything (context matters) Turn the attention to ourselves, and be more discerning about how we interpret information. After many years of serving as the director of BEAR - Behavioural Economics in Action at Rotman, I'm now down to my last week in the role. At the end of this week, I'll pass on the baton to the amazing Tanjim Hossain to direct BEAR's next chapter! I'll still be around at University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, teaching and doing research. It's been a fabulous journey with many highlights (the BE101x course on edX, several compiled books, conferences like BIG, B.A.D, SOBDR, very many webinars and book events, the BI-Org partnership, Ph.D. work, a lot of research and work with partners) but the biggest highlight is the long list of amazing people I got to know along the way! You know who you are! Thanks for all the support over the years to me and BEAR, and please continue to provide that to Tanjim Hossain and his team!
