As we embark on a 10-year ambition to transform the GTA into a region where everyone can thrive, we are thrilled to launch our new campaign: Any way we can. Four simple words that mean so much. A promise to do whatever it takes, with all the tools in our toolbox, to fight local poverty and ensure everyone, in every neighbourhood, has everything they need to build a good life. It will not be easy, but fueled by the power of community, we will strengthen essential services, scale innovative solutions, and secure community spaces so they are there, close to home to meet urgent and emerging needs. Together, with grit and fierce determination, we will roll up our sleeves and build a stronger GTA for all, where everyone can thrive. #AnyWayWeCan 💌 Learn more about our new campaign https://bit.ly/3Bf5Zw1

Supporting our communities. Thanks to the generous sponsoring of Turner Fleischer, I was able to be a superhero for a moment - rappelling down a 17 floor Downtown Toronto skyscraper to raise awareness and fundraise for kids with physical disabilities through Easter Seals Ontario. Mission completed as minions like to say. Jokes aside, we are now gearing up for our next cause. Once again, our Studio Members will support our communities and the fight against local poverty while taking a physical challenge- climbing up the CN Tower with United Way Greater Toronto. You can support my climb here and learn more: https://lnkd.in/gy-8beaA #TurnerFleischer #TFCommunity

As we mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, we are reminded that poverty has multiple dimensions, some visible and others hidden, but all intertwined. Which is why United Way, together with our network of social service organizations, is unrelenting in our efforts to connect people with complete wraparound supports – food pantries, safe shelter, programs that support well-being, employment services and more - to ensure everyone has what they need to thrive. Fighting poverty is tough. But we are determined to build a stronger, more inclusive GTA for all. Learn more https://bit.ly/3sO1Wmu

Mental health issues are the leading cause of disability in Canada and some groups face even bigger challenges including youth and low-income individuals. But together with community, United Way is: Investing in a network of social services agencies providing vital programs and supports. Bringing people together – local agencies, government, community - to coordinate services, share resources and breakdown barriers. Investing in research to understand the mental health challenges people are experiencing right now, how to better support them and ensure we can have the greatest impact. We’re committed to expanding mental health support across the GTA and building a region where everyone can thrive. Any way we can. This World Mental Health Day, learn how caregivers can help support youth mental health. https://bit.ly/3XfD6r2 *** Looking to be connected to support?
