    On August 11, Noelle Piche Travel and Tourism Development Specialist, hosted an educational session at the SYTA: Student & Youth Travel Association conference at the Sheraton Times Square Conference Centre in New York City. The event, titled “Bridging the Gap”, was attended by DMOs and Tour Operators with the topic: How DMOs and Tour Operators can work effectively together. In this session, Noelle moderated a panel discussion. The panellists included George Nimmo with Tour Resource Consultants, Jennnifer Deutsch with Educational Travel Adventures and Stacy Thorton with Meet Boston. Noelle has been asked to speak again at SYTA 2025. See you there!

    Kingston has been shortlisted for the Destination of the Year award in the 2024 Seatrade Cruise Awards. Kingston has been recognized as a welcoming port of call for Great Lakes cruise ships, offering amazing natural resources, a great culinary scene, and a vibrant and historic community for passengers to explore. Tourism Kingston works closely with Great Lakes cruise ships to offer their passengers a warm welcome to the city, and providing them with memorable, authentic experiences during their stay. Visitors are connected with cultural experiences, including tours of Kingston’s many unique historic sites, like Fort Henry and the Great Lakes Museum. The Seatrade Cruise Awards will be given out September 11 in Malaga, Spain at the Seatrade Cruise Med, the largest gathering of the global cruise industry.

    Team Kingston is all set to welcome event industry professionals from across Canada at the Canadian Meetings + Events Expo (CMEE), the largest show of its kind in the country. Our booth and Kingston branding throughout the trade show floor bring our business events campaign to life, inspiring attendees to see more, do, more, and taste more in Kingston. We'll be in our booth throughout the show on Tues Aug 13 and Weds Aug 14, as well as at our Kingston networking breakfast Wednesday morning at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University Toronto campus.     Thank you to everyone who attended the opening ceremony for the Canadian Little League Championship at City Park yesterday! The teams were welcomed with a short ceremony MC’d by long-time Kingston sportscaster, Doug Jefferies featuring local anthem singer, Kyra Daniel, Town Crier, Chris Whyman, and opening remarks from Deputy Mayor, Counsellor Oosterhof. At the end of the ceremony, the championship kicked off with the ceremonial opening pitch! Games are taking place until August 8 in City Park.
