#Newsflash: Impact Catalyst and Anglo American Foundation Highlight Importance of Public-Private Partnerships at Road Safety Seminar in Kenya The Impact Catalyst, as the implementing agent of the Limpopo Road Safety Programme (LRSP), was among the institutions on the continent invited to participate in the panel discussion on “General Challenges for Implementing the Africa Road Safety Action Plan” at the Africa Road Safety Seminar in Kenya this week. Representing the Impact Catalyst in the discussion was Dr Mari Romijn, Head of the Department for Capable State, who emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral partnerships as a key driver in achieving coordinated and scalable road safety initiatives. “As an organisation that prides itself on being a collaborative platform bringing together the expertise of the public and private sectors, we recognise that cross-sectoral partnerships are essential for creating long-term solutions. By leveraging the unique strengths and resources of each sector, we can co-create scalable road safety initiatives. It is through this coordinated effort that we can ensure road safety interventions reach the communities that need them most.” Supporting Dr Romijn’s sentiments, Anglo American Foundation Operations Manager, Sameera Munshi, explained: “The LRSP proves that institutional support is critical to effective, system-wide road safety management, and that collaboration with the private sector and civil society serves as a catalyst for system development. We need to work together and support one another in saving lives.” Thank you Global Road Safety Partnership, Kenya Red Cross, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and International Road Assessment Programme for hosting an exciting and insightful seminar. #RoadSafety #PublicPrivatePartnerships #DecadeOFAction
