To improve accessibility, our Facilitation Fund provides financial support (#subsidies) to lower the audit costs for local/national aid providers. Organisations certified under the Core Humanitarian Standard #CHS benefit from a streamlined application process when seeking Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office grant funding. This milestone decision: ☑️ recognises the CHS as a valued quality and accountability standard for the sector, ☑️ recognises the professional audit work of HQAI - Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative as a trustworthy external process, ☑️ represents a significant achievement on the road towards reducing duplication with and amongst funders and assessment holders. The HQAI Facilitation Fund Management Committee (FFMC) welcomes HQAI's announcement of a reduction in audit costs starting in 2025. This means that over a three-year cycle, most audited partners can expect a 5-15% reduction. But there's more: HQAI is demonstrating its commitment to locally-led action by reducing the cost of a full audit cycle by up to 20% for smaller organisations. This is fantastic news for the Facilitation Fund, as it will allow us to support even more local actors in accessing quality funding and CHS certification. About the Facilitation Fund: HQAI’s Facilitation Fund assists organisations seeking access to its services by covering auditor training costs. More than 39% of HQAI's audited partners are local and national organisations. To date, the HQAI Facilitation Fund has distributed subsidies totalling 1.22 million CHF to 17 local/national organisations and 3 individuals across 13 countries. The Facilitation Fund Management Committee (FFMC) independently allocates these subsidies, enabling organisations and individuals to access HQAI’s services.
