Raphaela Pichler photographer and co-founder of house of change, is currently pursuing a Master’s in Digital Ideation at HSLU. Her research explores AI image generation, identity, and visual culture, focusing on self-representation and self-perception. She critically examines how AI is trained on specific datasets that reflect human biases and values; biases that inevitably shape the images AI produces. As AI-generated visuals become more realistic, distinguishing them from actual photographs is becoming increasingly difficult. Photographs have long been seen as a reflection of reality, capturing moments that truly happened. But when AI-generated images are perceived with the same sense of authenticity, what does that mean for our understanding of truth?

Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts We envision and cultivate critical thinking and action for change agents who passionately reimagine and reframe material culture through design. People-product relations and material flows are at the centre of our design interventions that address today’s complex challenges. We foster a process-oriented perspective that reflects meaning and values. Symbols, signs, objects and materials are our playing field. Through collaborative and practice-based design approaches, we harness the power of change through design.

🚀 Master Project Sneak Peek – Starting this week, we’re showcasing the graduation projects of our master’s students! Kicking off with GD Codex Algorithm by Pietro Peduzzi from Digital Ideation. 🎮✨With „AI“ becoming an overused buzzword, Pietro notices that it’s getting harder to find and research real game design algorithms. His solution? A virtual archive of game design AI system which help developers learn and make effective decision. Specialising in game design and digital products, Pietro has plans for his project: “I plan to update the website so developers can easily add their own systems to the archive, with clear examples to guide them. Working with established groups will help reach more game designers. Resulting feedback will drive improvements and highlight useful features.”
