With recent disaster event when Andhra Pradesh was hit by devastating floods, affecting over 650,000 residents, a purpose driven synergy between the state government and startups transformed the relief efforts and delivered quick flood response. SatSure was one of the first to come on board to drive the purpose of relief operations. We leveraged satellite data and developed algorithms to analyse the extent of inundation of villages. Here are the key contributions by SatSure: ✅ Satellite-Driven Insights: SatSure used #satelliteimagery to analyze flood impact, covering 1,757 villages and 16.27 lakh hectares of land, identifying 1,486 villages with significant crop damage. ✅ Accurate Damage Assessment: Their algorithms helped gauge actual inundation, revealing that 20.2% of the total sown area (2.71 lakh hectares) had been affected by the floods. ✅ Focus on High-Impact Areas: SatSure's data helped authorities prioritize relief efforts, ensuring resources were directed to the most critical regions. These insights helped pinpoint severely affected regions, enabling the government to focus resources where they were needed most. This streamlined distribution of essentials, facilitated quick recovery, and ensured accurate assessment for timely compensation. The synergy between tech startups and the government has paved the way for a more resilient disaster management approach, marking the beginning of a long-term, innovative ecosystem.
