Reflecting on an Inspiring Week of Innovation and Collaboration 🇨🇭 💡🚀 As we wrap up the #SeminarWeek organized under the Second Swiss Contribution to selected EU Member States, we reflect on inspiring dialogues and insights shared. State Secretary Helene Budliger Artieda reminds us, “We see a cohesion within Europe that is based on shared values, voluntary and mutually beneficial cooperation, and common challenges to be addressed.” This sentiment echoed throughout the week as we witnessed the power of interdisciplinary #collaboration, #innovation across borders, and sustainable #partnerships. Over the course of the week, participants had the opportunity to: 🔬 Discuss innovation with Empa, a leader in cutting-edge materials and technology research 🔬 Reflect on innovative research with the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), recognized for its groundbreaking work in natural and engineering sciences 🏛️ We also had a valuable chance to dive into Switzerland’s political system in the Swiss Parliament, where we discussed direct democracy, stakeholder involvement, and the dynamic political landscape surrounding the EU. Thank you to all our participants and partners for making this week a success.🤝🌍 Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation #SwissContribution #EMPA #PSI #Partnerships #Innovation

"Financing disaster risk reduction is not just about the money. It’s about how we invest hand in hand with the first responders and the people most vulnerable to disasters—finding smarter, more connected ways to protect lives. Digitalisation plays a key role too." Patricia Danzi, Director General of SDC, addressed the topic of “Transforming DRR policy priorities into concrete financing initiatives and implementation on the ground” at the Oslo Policy Forum on Financing for DRR. United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) #FinancingForDRR #PolicyInAction
Disaster risk reduction is an investment in the future. 🌀We can break the vicious disaster – recovery – repeat cycle. How? 📈By boosting efficiency and development – with disaster risk integrated into public finance. 💪By empowering vulnerable countries to invest in high-impact resilience-building measures. We must build resilience together, for the planet, for the people, for the future. 🌟 💡This week in Oslo, the High-Level Forum on Accelerated Disaster Risk Reduction Financing to Build Resilience will focus on mobilizing the necessary financing and political will to invest in a disaster-free future. Time to Rethink and Reshape the Humanitarian System Millions of vulnerable people are at risk while the humanitarian sector is undergoing a seismic event. The rapidly shifting context and recent geopolitical events have compelled humanitarian workers to gather and look at how to reimagine the humanitarian system. In this Opinion Piece, Dominik Stillhart from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and I, on behalf of United Nations OCHA, express our readiness to co-create a “new normal” – inviting you to be a part of the conversation, too. This call comes ahead of the Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks #HNPW2025 which opened this week and has the in-person segment taking place next week in Geneva, Switzerland - a key moment to discuss how the humanitarian system can adapt to better serve the people most in need.

Dies dürfte jedoch etliche Zeit in Anspruch nehmen.
