The recycling process in the steel industry is complex and multi-stage - but it is essential for resource-conserving production. 🌍🔄 👉Collection & sorting: Steel scrap comes from scrap metal, vehicles, building waste and production waste. It is sorted according to quality and composition to ensure the highest standards. 👉Melting in the electric arc furnace (EAF): At Swiss Steel Group, the recycled scrap is melted down in our EAF facilities and processed into new steel. This process reduces CO₂ emissions and keeps valuable materials in the cycle. But what proportion of our metal input actually comes from recycled scrap? 🤔 What do you think?
