We are proud to have had our COO, Inge Hofkens, represent Aurubis at the 18th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK). 🇮🇳 Organized by the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (Deutsche Auslandshandelskammern (AHK) in Asia-Pacific), the APK, was hosted by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce from 24th to 26th October in New Delhi. 🎤 On Saturday, Inge particpated in the panel discussion "Rude Awakening in Raw Materials: Dependencies and the Quest to Diversify." together with Rowena Smith and Rohit Pathak, tackling the critical need for raw material resilience, highlighting how geopolitical tensions and global dependencies push us to seek sustainable solutions. 🗨️ Reflecting on Aurubis' role, Inge shared: "As we work to secure essential raw materials like copper, investing in a circular economy isn’t just a priority – it's a necessity. By driving innovation in recycling and sustainable production, we can reduce dependencies and meet future demand responsibly." Aurubis boosts competitive edge at Aurubis Stolberg GmbH & Co. KG with € 16 million investment in two new machines. “The investments strengthen the site’s future. At the same time, they are a clear commitment to our plant in Stolberg,” Tim Kurth, Chief Operations Officer (COO) Custom Smelting and Products, emphasized.  “In alignment with our ‘Tomorrow Metals’ sustainability pledge, we’re not just increasing our production capacity, but also significantly improving our energy balance at the site. It’s a wrap! We had a great time hosting the Aurubis Tomorrow Metals Reception during LME Week in London this week! It was a pleasure connecting with esteemed business partners, industry leaders, and distinguished guests. 🌱 Martin Sjoberg, our Senior Vice President Commercial, kicked off the event by reaffirming Aurubis’ commitment to sustainability. He emphasized our promise of "Tomorrow Metals", showcasing metals sourced and produced under state-of-the-art sustainability standards. He also shared our progress in updating the Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for eight product groups – a testament to our commitment to transparency and environmental responsibility. 💫 Our CEO, Toralf Haag, followed with an inspiring keynote, reflecting on his journey in the industry and sharing exciting updates on Aurubis' strategic projects. From the launch of the innovative ASPA project for slag processing at Aurubis Beerse to the ribbon-cutting of our new multimetal recycling site Aurubis Richmond, Toralf highlighted how we're pushing the boundaries of sustainable development and driving the circular economy forward. 🙏 A huge thank you to everyone who attended and made this event a success. This week, Aurubis participated in the E-Scrap Conference in Orlando, Florida, where industry leaders gathered to discuss innovations in electronics recycling and the circular economy. ♻️ Our team was excited to exchange ideas on sustainable solutions for e-waste management and to showcase how Aurubis continues to drive forward recycling technologies. 💻 As one of the world’s leading multi-metal companies, we are committed to turning waste into valuable resources. Yesterday, Aurubis proudly participated in the Women4Metals Teatime at LME Week, an inspiring event focused on fostering diversity and inclusion within the metals industry. Our COO Multimetal Recycling, Inge Hofkens, kicked off the program, sharing Aurubis’ commitment to diversity and inclusion. Highlights of the event: 🤝 The industrywide cross-mentoring program and the work in the focus groups introduction by Stefanie Klein and Tanja Winter from W4M, discussing new initiatives for growth and collaboration. 🎤 A powerful impulse talk by Alia Smektala, COO of MTM Ruhrzinn GmbH, addressing gender biases and how we can overcome stereotypes in the workplace. 🗣️ An engaging panel discussion with our COO Custom Smelting and Products, Tim Kurth, alongside Women4Metals partners from MTM Ruhrzinn GmbH, Sirius and Triland Metals Limited. Together, they explored best practices in recruitment, career development, and the crucial role mentoring plays in advancing diversity.
