🤔 What is finance? Where does money come from? What careers are available in finance? We’re often asked these questions in our work with secondary school students – that’s why we are launching the new Tech for Finance online resource, co-developed together with Tech She Can. It is an immersive and interactive tool which aims to help students between 11-14 years old understand these questions. Whether you’re a teacher, parent or working with secondary school students, you can use Tech for Finance for free in the classroom or at home via the link at the bottom of this post. The resource covers topics ranging from money and finance, to securing financial systems against cyber threats, and shows the wide variety of technology roles available within finance. In it, Soumya Singh and Catherine Doyle, who work in our Deutsche Bank Technology, Data & Innovation teams, also share insights into their working day and what inspires them at work - helping to bring the idea of a career in technology within finance to life. Tech for Finance is part of Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility ‘Future of Tech’ programme, which sits within our global education initiative. Education is a crucial tool to help young people to reach their full potential, and in the past two years, the programme has reached more than 1,000 young people, especially girls, inspiring them about the exciting technology and careers available in the world of finance. 📣 We celebrated International Women’s Day with a powerful message: Accelerate Action. Around the globe, our colleagues organized and participated in inspiring events throughout March, dedicated to empowering women and breaking down barriers. 👩💼 From female leadership panels featuring internal and external role models, to school visits where our female leaders shared their career journeys to inspire the next generation of women in banking, we fostered meaningful dialogue and connections. 📣 Out now: Annual Report 2024 Today we published our Annual Report containing the bank’s audited results for the 2024 financial year, showcasing strong underlying performance with a clear path toward achieving 2025 targets. 📘 The report includes the bank’s Consolidated Financial Statements, the 2024 Compensation Report and management’s outlook for 2025. It also contains the bank’s 2024 Sustainability Statement. The report highlights a 4% growth in net revenues, reaching €30.1 billion, and a solid CET1 capital ratio of 13.8%. Despite challenges posed by specific litigation charges, the bank remained robust and increased its profit before tax (excluding non-operating costs) by 16% to € 7.9 billion. Looking ahead, Deutsche Bank remains committed to sustainable growth. It aims to increase net revenues to around EUR 32 billion and reduce its cost-income ratio to below 65% by 2025. The bank also plans to increase shareholder returns through dividends and share buybacks.
