  • Today we would like to show you another insight from our colleague Christian, who spent three months at our branches in Vienna, Koper and Hamburg as part of our Go Global exchange program: When FMS announced the Go Global Program, I was unsure whether I should apply. However, the idea of working in another country for three months intrigued me, and after some hesitation, I decided to take the chance. The first week in Vienna was turbulent. The subway system felt like a maze, the cold weather was unfamiliar, and I struggled to adapt to the fast-paced yet polite way of life. At work, I often doubted whether I was fitting in properly. But over time, everything became easier. My European colleagues were incredibly friendly, patiently explained their workflows to me, and taught me simple phrases for meetings. After work, we often went out to eat or have drinks together, which helped us get to know each other better. In return, I shared stories about Indonesian culture, our food, and humor. A particular highlight was an additional trip organized by the company. I visited offices in other countries, such as Ljubljana, and the Luka port in Koper to learn more about the loading process. I also spent three weeks at the headquarters in Hamburg, where I worked with the Tender and Pricing Management team and learned a lot about pricing strategies and data analysis. Over time, I realized how much I had grown—both professionally and personally. My confidence increased, and I felt like I had found a second home. On the flight back, I couldn’t stop smiling. The program had given me more than I had expected: new skills, new friends, and a new perspective on life. “Thank you,” I whispered, grateful for the courage to take this step. In conclusion, the Go Global Program is an amazing and priceless opportunity to embark on a new journey, learn about cultural exchange, and gain business insights in another country. #goglobal #program #abroad #worldwide #experience #FMShamburg #FMSvienna #FMSkoper #frmeyerssohn #fms1897

  • At Fr. Meyer's Sohn, equality - regardless of gender, origin, religion, sexual orientation, or hierarchy - plays an important role. Today, we especially want to highlight and celebrate the fact that great women work in all our branches! Because today’s International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. International Women’s Day has been celebrated for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Nevertheless, it remains crucial today to remember and draw attention to the ongoing need to work towards equality between women and men - both in private and professional environments. #AccelerateAction #embraceequality #breakthebias #womensday #awareness #IWD #IWD2024 #march8 #frmeyerssohn #fms1897
