🌍 #T7Summit: Next week, I will be joining global leaders, including Paul Samson from the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and James Bell from Project Liberty, for the Think7 Summit 2025 in Waterloo, Canada, where global experts will gather to shape policy recommendations for the G7 Canada Presidency.    Over two days, we will explore strategies to strengthen multilateral cooperation, digital governance, and inclusive economic policies. South Africa’s G20 Presidency in 2025 has set a strong focus on developing a shared vision for the energy transition anchored in the global South. Yesterday, the South African delegation to the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue engaged international delegations and missions as well as policymakers in Berlin on this issue. Dr Zwanani Titus Mathe in his presentation to the invited guests explained: “In our G20 Presidency, we strive to ensure the fair treatment and equal opportunities for all individuals and all nations. In the area of energy, this includes energy security, just energy transitions, and the interconnectedness of our energy systems.” A panel discussion included Jorge Marcial Islas Samperio, Vidisha Mishra, Towela Nyirenda-Jere and Stefanie Schmid-Lübbert, who highlighted: “The G20 represents over 80 percent of the world’s economic output and of global emissions. Where if not here can we work for solutions to the challenges that we are facing today”. Many thanks to all attendees and especially to the South African Embassy Berlin who made this event possible!
