𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐇𝟐𝐔𝐁 𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐞 “Do you want to protect the climate or do you want to extract raw materials for the chemical industry?” This is what the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck asked our #HYDROVERSE start-up Greenlyte Carbon Technologies during his visit to the BRYCK.COM Tower in Essen today. The answer from Greenlyte co-founder Dr. Niklas Friederichsen came as little surprise to us: Clearly both! Greenlyte captures atmospheric #CO2 and converts it into green energy sources, fuels and storage, so climate protection and the use of extracted materials go hand in hand. Greenlyte was part of the H2UB SPRINT Batch 4 and receives ongoing support from the H2UB team. “We were thrilled to present our innovative Direct Air Capture solution for a sustainable future to Federal Minister Robert Habeck. At Greenlyte, we believe in the power of green technology to transform industries and protect our planet. Together with H2UB, we're driving impactful change through innovation,“ said Niklas. In addition to Greenlyte, Minister Habeck and Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, met with six other start-ups from the BRYCK community and asked questions about the young companies' innovative ideas. The more renewable #energy is generated by sun and wind, the more energy needs to be stored and released for a longer consistent period. An innovative Long Duration Energy (LDES) solution is presented by Elestor B.V., one of the new companies in our 𝑺𝑷𝑹𝑰𝑵𝑻 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 starting next week. The Dutch company, founded 10 years ago, has developed a flow battery using #hydrogen and a liquid electrolyte. Their mission: to build a storage system with the lowest possible storage cost (LCoS) per MWh. 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲: The use of hydrogen and a low cost, abundant electrolyte, results in… 🔋 25 years lifetime, fully recyclable 🔋 Lowest possible LCoS (€/MWh) 🔋 Unique integration with hydrogen infrastructure and electrolysers 🔋 75% Round Trip Efficiency “A clean and sustainable energy system will soon be at the very basis of society.
