Come see me today at the poster session of the IEEE UFFC Joint Symposium. Today marks the first day of the Joint Symposium, and I am proud to present not one but two posters. Also this is the first time for me presenting results at this conference, which I am very happy about. 🔊 We will demonstrate how a technique known from acoustics can be used to characterize nonlinearities in the transmission behavior of US transducers for a broad frequency range. We will compare piezo and cMUT-based transducers. 🔬 Characterization of Two-Photon Polymerization 3D Printing Materials for Acoustic Matching Layer and Lens Fabrication: We have successfully fabricated different samples with TPP. We then characterized their elastic and acoustic behavior using Scanning Acoustic Microscopy and Nanoindentation. This is just the first step towards fabricating acoustic metamaterials, for example for acoustic lenses or matching layers. Come by and visit, I am looking forward to fruitful discussions. Reflecting on UltrasounDD Last week, our group held the first Interdisciplinary Ultrasound Symposium UltrasounDD in Dresden. We are happy that we were able to attract over 50 attendees from various disciplines: The event was a fantastic opportunity for engineers, executives, and clinicians (some of whom even came directly from examinations at the bedside) from research institutes, clinics, large corporations, and even start-ups to come together and share their insights. These were the key takeaways for us: 1. Interdisciplinary exchange is a key component of bringing innovation into the clinics - if we as engineers don’t listen and talk to the doctors, we are solving the wrong problems. 2. There is a lot of promising research going on in ultrasound - and lots of it is happening very close to us in Dresden. We should use this and work together to drive this field forwards. We hope that everyone enjoyed the event as much as we did and made some great connections. How did you like the event and what were your takeaways?
