Created through a technique that makes a dense yet soft felt, with dissolved yet distinct speckles of colour from the bouclé yarn, Vanir represents an evolution of Raf Simons' fascination with translating the subtle colouration and texture of classic fashion textiles into fabrics suitable for furniture. Available in a colour palette restrained to earthy base tones reminiscent of classic tweed and paired with fresh colours in unexpected combinations, Vanir is showcased here on Humanscale's Freedom Chair. Crafted in the United Kingdom. Our collaboration with production partner Wooltex has allowed us to meet a key technological challenge: ensuring consistent quality and high performance with recycled wool. For Re-wool 2, we achieved a breakthrough in the collection and recycling of fibres from the spinning process, resulting in fibres of optimal length and quality that meet our high-performance requirements, just like all the other new fibres we use. Re-wool 2 is made with 45% recycled wool, which reduces its environmental impact. The recycled fibres have already been processed, meaning that farming, transportation, scouring, and dyeing are removed from the equation. We are excited to support and host The Mindcraft Project’s annual exhibition at our Copenhagen showroom. This year’s edition showcases contemporary expressions of Danish design and craft through ten commissioned projects by some of Denmark’s most innovative and daring practitioners. The Mindcraft Project, led by Copenhagen Design Agency (CDA), is an international platform for Danish design and craft. This year’s exhibition is curated by Danish designer Maria Bruun, whose own practice sits at the cross-section between sculptural studies into form and function and collaborative work with the established design industry. The Mindcraft Project 2024 features both physical and digital exhibitions. Continuing her hands-on approach to curation of this year’s exhibition, Maria Bruun has designed an immersive exhibition space within our Copenhagen showroom. The ten selected designers and studios are Akiko Ken Made, Alexander Kirkeby, Frederik Gustav, Lærke Ryom, Marie Holst, Morten Løbner Espersen, Sigurd Nis Schelde, Sofie Østerby, Stine Mikkelsen, and Victor Miklos. On view from 27 September – 25 October 2024. Kvadrat Showroom Pakhus 48, Klubiensvej 22 2150 Nordhavn Monday – Thursday: 9:00 – 16:00 Friday: 9:00 – 15:00 Saturday – Sunday: Closed Photo by Benjamin Lund. #kvadrattextiles #kvadratcreate #MindcraftProject #Copenhagen

A cutting-edge method for crafting tufted rugs. Did you know that we have developed a patent-pending technique that allows us to produce tufted rugs without adhesives and secondary backing? Exemplified by our rugs March and July, this production technique reduces the need for virgin materials and chemicals during production and simplifies potential recycling processes at the end of the rugs’ lives.
