Some people eat too much food. Others eat unhealthy food, perhaps because they cannot afford healthy alternatives. Other people continue to eat a balanced diet but still struggle with their weight. How we eat and how our bodies react to food greatly affects our health. More than a third of all deaths today are caused by diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. But why does the body tell us that it wants more food – even though it has enough energy? And can you get the body to settle for what it needs by adjusting the body’s control systems? These questions have puzzled researchers for decades. And translating new knowledge into something to combat these diseases turned out to be extremely challenging. Launched today in Copenhagen and powered by NVIDIA’s cutting edge AI technology, Gefion will accelerate research and innovation in fields such as quantum computing, healthcare and the green transition. Attending the launch was among others NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang and H.M. The King of Denmark. Gefion is a state-of-the-art #NVIDIADGX Superpod consisting of 1528 NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs, and it is the result of a partnership between The Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark to accelerate AI driven innovation. 64% fewer premature births and 35% fewer babies born large – a four-year initiative by Steno Diabetes Center Nordjylland and Aalborg Universitetshospital has had huge benefits for mothers and babies in northern Denmark. The team is now planning to expand the initiative.
