Earlier this week our CEO Mette Trauelsen and Chair John Haurum participated in the annual SUND Innovation Day 2024, sharing their thoughts and experiences on the transition from university research to biotech startup. A big thanks to Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, UCPH for letting us be a part of the great discussion 💡 ...and of course congratulations to the winners of the UCPH: BII Life Science Innovation Award 2024 🏆👏
🌟 Congratulations to the Winners! 🌟 🏆 We are thrilled to announce the winners of the UCPH: BII Life Science Innovation Award 2024: Mai Bay Stie, Tora Henriksen, and Gyrithe Lynghøj Pedersen. These exceptional early-career researchers were recognized for their innovative contributions to life science research, with significant potential impact for patients and society. They were selected from a pool of 20 impressive proposals by our esteemed award committee: Kristian Strømgaard, Lene Gerlach, Markus Herrgård, Ruth Frikke-Schmidt, and Zach Gerhart-Hines. The prizes are generously sponsored by the BioInnovation Institute. The awardees were celebrated at the annual SUND Innovation Day 2024 at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, UCPH. This year, we focused on fostering an entrepreneurial research culture, improving the path from research to university spinouts, and turning research breakthroughs into thriving commercial ventures. We were enlightened on the necessity of psychological safety for a strong innovation culture by Christian Ørsted, followed by two insightful panels brilliantly moderated by Nynne Bjerre Christensen. The first panel discussed the innovator dilemmas when balancing academic research and innovation, where the second focused on making sense of university outreach. A big thank you to our panelists: Mette Trauelsen, John Haurum, Julie Gehl, Agnete Kirkeby, Katrine Thor Andersen, MBA, Søren Lemonius, and Thomas Hanke. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and contributed to this inspiring day. 🙌 Let’s continue to use the learnings and connections to support and nurture the innovation culture at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen. 🌱 #LifeScience #UCPHBIILifeScienceInnovationAward #Healthcare #Research #UCPH
