Complementing this facility is our Health, Safety, and Environment Training Center within the Monorail project, prioritizing employee well-being through immersive experiences and practical hazard simulations. The New Delta Irrigation Water Treatment Plant Project Achieves Four Guinness World Records We are pleased to announce that the New Delta Irrigation Water Treatment Plant, constructed by Orascom Construction in consortium with Arab Contractors, Hassan Allam, and Metito, has secured four Guinness World Records (GWR): -Largest water treatment facility in the world -Most capacious and operationally robust water treatment plant -Largest area for epoxy coating in structures -Biggest sludge treatment plant globally Globally recognized as the largest of its kind, the plant has a production capacity of 7.5 million cubic meters per day and covers an area of 320,000 square meters. Operating at a flow rate of 86.8 cubic meters per second and equipped with a sludge treatment capacity of 670.01 kg/s, it establishes a new benchmark for water management in Egypt. Completed in a remarkable 24 months, the project reflects Orascom Construction’s leadership in sustainable infrastructure. This marks the project’s second recognition from Guinness World Records, following its previous achievement in 2023, further emphasizing its significance. Osama Bishai, CEO of Orascom Construction, remarks, “ This achievement underscores Orascom Construction’s dedication to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, and our leadership in the water sector which includes a treatment and desalination capacity of 17 million m³/day in Egypt and the Middle East. 500 MW Ras Ghareb Wind Farm Project Achieves Two Major Milestones We are pleased to share the progress made on the 500 MW Build-Own-Operate Wind Farm project in Ras Ghareb. Our teams have achieved two important milestones, demonstrating our commitment to efficient project execution. Orascom Construction (OC) successfully delivered and handed over 42 wind turbine foundations, 56 days ahead of schedule. Additionally, OC has efficiently positioned four 180 MVA 33/220 KV power transformers onto their designated foundations at the project site in a record time of just 20 hours. In collaboration with Engie, Toyota Tsusho, and Eurus Energy, this project is a key step towards Egypt’s renewable energy goals. Once operational, it will substantially reduce CO2 emissions by over 1 million tons annually and provide clean energy to over 800,000 households. Advancing Healthcare: The Rwanda Heart Center - In Collaboration with Magdy Yacoub Global Heart Foundation Orascom Construction is pleased to announce its partnership with the Magdy Yacoub Global Heart Foundation in developing the Rwanda Heart Center, East Africa's first specialized facility for heart surgery, research, and training. OC is responsible for the engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of the entire building, excluding medical equipment. Designed to provide up to 2,000 procedures annually at no cost, this project aims to serve underprivileged communities across Africa. Additionally, OC is the main contractor on the Magdy Yacoub Global Heart Center in Egypt, which has the capacity to treat up to 120,000 patients annually and will elevate the healthcare sector in Egypt and the region. These initiatives highlight OC's extensive experience in healthcare infrastructure, demonstrated through the construction and renovation of hospitals and medical centers throughout the region.
