Sobre nosotros
The Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) is dedicated to advancing knowledge, materials, and devices across three domains: 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐂𝐓. It specializes in the nanoscale, continually uncovering new properties, interactions, and practical applications for everyday life. This prestigious distinction was awarded again in 2018 and once more in 2023. ICN2 is supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where it is based. Additionally, ICN2 is a CERCA and ACER center and a founding member of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST).

📖 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝘀 Series Sometimes we talk about #graphene. But what is it? 🔍 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐞 is a material composed of a single layer of #CarbonAtoms and is known for being one of the best electrical conductors ⚡. It's also flexible, durable, and waterproof, basically a wonder material with superpowers! 🚀 Already used in #electronics, it could soon cause a technological revolution in microchips, phones 📱, and laptops 💻.

🎒 The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Summer School students have visited us today as part of their #Nanotechnology and Society course, led by former ICN2 Prof. Patxi Recaj. Our Scientific Communicator, Chema Arcos Serrano introduced the visit with a welcome session before they visited the Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy, and the Magnetic Nanostructures Group labs. 🙏 Thanks for the visit, guys!
