Just wrapped up the Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) the American Heart Association course from Blue Health Ethiopia with YeneHealth sponsorship, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the knowledge gained. This isn't just a certificate for healthcare professionals—it's something everyone should consider, even if you're not in the medical field. Imagine this: You’re at a family gathering, everyone’s laughing and having a good time, and suddenly, someone collapses. In that moment, it’s not about being a doctor; it’s about being a human who knows how to help. Cardiac arrest can strike anywhere, at any time, and if no one knows what to do, it could be the difference between life and death. In Ethiopia, where emergency services might not always arrive on time, knowing CPR could literally save a life. Let’s build a community where we’re all prepared to step up when it matters most. I encourage everyone to consider taking this course—because you never know when you might be the one who can make a difference. #BLS #CPR #AED #CommunityCare #LifeSavingSkills

Is your workplace empowering you to be the woman you can be? As we commemorate Women’s Equality Day, it’s a sobering reminder that equality isn’t just a one-day conversation—it’s a commitment we must live by every day. Despite making up half the world’s population, women still face significant challenges: the gender pay gap, underrepresentation in leadership, struggles with work-life balance, and the persistent threat of workplace harassment. Why, in 2024, are we still shouting for basic rights like equal pay and fair representation? Let’s not just talk about equality—let’s demand it, live it, and make it a reality in every workplace. Women’s Equality Day is about celebrating progress, but also about pushing for real change in education, economic empowerment, and political participation. #WomensEqualityDay #EqualityEveryDay #StrongerTogether #GenderEquality #EqualPay #WomenInLeadership #WorkLifeBalance #EndWorkplaceHarassment#YeneHealth #Femtech #Women #Ethiopia #AddisAbaba

The tragic story of the 7-year-old Ethiopian girl named Heaven who was brutally raped and murdered by her landlord has been recently surfacing all over social media. This is a stark reminder of the deep-rooted issues in Ethiopia’s culture of rape and its judicial system. While Heaven’s story has finally come to light, it is not an isolated incident. It is a heartbreaking reflection of the systemic violence against women and girls in our society, underscoring the urgent need for collective action to end sexual violence. In Ethiopia, 41% of women aged 15-49 have experienced physical or sexual violence, according to the Ethiopian Demographic and Health Survey of 2016. Amnesty International reported a sharp rise in gender-based violence during the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 2,000 cases of rape reported in 2021 alone. More recently, the Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association revealed that over 3,500 cases of rape were reported in 2023—a staggering increase that highlights the severity of this crisis. Heaven’s story is a tragic reminder that we must protect our young girls and hold perpetrators accountable. As an organization committed to safeguarding girls' and women’s reproductive rights, we stand in solidarity with Heaven’s family and the countless unreported cases of gender-based violence in our community. We call on leaders, policymakers, and every member of our society to ensure that no young girl or woman in Ethiopia ever faces such horror again. The time to act is always going to be, now. The government must strengthen and rigorously enforce laws, the community must protect our children, and all citizens—women and men—must speak out against gender-based violence. Let us honor Heaven’s memory by taking action. Together, we can create a safer future for girls and women across the globe. There are many forms of activism, advocacy, and support. You can support and advocate by: 1. Re-sharing Heaven’s Story- Spread awareness about ending sexual violence against children and women. 2. Sign the Petition- Add your voice & fight for justice on Change.org https://chng.it/tWMZcrTNHD . 3. Support Heaven’s family by contributing financially to support with legal assistance and family needs- CBE Account-1000177318934, Abekyelesh Adeba.
