We're proud to share that our dedicated medical volunteers at St. Peter Specialized Hospital have been actively contributing to a successful Heart Attack Ethiopia cardiac mission for 2 days. Their efforts have been instrumental in creating a supportive environment for the mission. The Heart Attack Ethiopia team has successfully completed 11 procedures, including 10 permanent pacemaker placements and 1 electrophysiology study. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Heart Attack Ethiopia for their remarkable and impactful contributions to cardiac care. 🚑❤️ Here’s the Latest on Our August Cardiac Mission! We are immensely proud of the dedicated medical professionals volunteering with GIV for the Heart Attack Ethiopia, Inc. August Cardiac Mission. GIV Society Ethiopia is honored to be part of this impactful initiative, bringing hope and healing to many patients. Our dedicated volunteers are leading the way in making a tangible difference. Through their unwavering commitment, they are driving changes in patient care, ensuring that every patient’s history is thoroughly documented, accurately translated, and that patients receive comprehensive counseling on their conditions and post-operative care. This initiative exemplifies the power of collective effort and the profound impact we can achieve together. Time for an August Cardiac Mission Update! 🚑❤️ In the past two days we have witnessed many life-saving and pioneer procedures performed by the Heart Attack Ethiopia team. On August 19th, the team completed 11 procedures, including coronary angiography, PCI, and DVR. The team had done 3 ground breaking procedures in Ethiopia: micro aspiration catheter, LIMA to LAD stent anastomosis graft, and PRIMARY PCI within the golden hour. While on August 20, 2024, there were 8 procedures done. 6 of them were interventional cardiac procedures while 2 of them were open heart surgeries ( DVR and Mitral valve replacement). GIV-Ethiopia is proud to have recruited, trained, and deployed volunteers each day of the mission to maximize the impact of this initiative. Our medical professional volunteers have been actively participating in facilitating day to day activities. These activities included recording patients data pre-operatively, counseling for consent and translating for better communication.
