Earlier this week, the UK team visited their Manchester office to meet in person and to collaborate on projects for two days. 🌟 They looked back at their accomplishments and set objectives for the year ahead; and also focused on strategies for client communications and engagement, taking into consideration the development of the UK REACH consultation on the ATRm. 🌟 Breaking News: Ukraine Government Approves Ukraine REACH 🌟 On the 23rd of July, the Ukrainian government has approved the technical regulation for the safety of chemical products (Ukraine REACH), marking a significant step towards establishing a national chemical management system in line with European standards. This regulation adopts the European REACH Regulation standards, advancing Ukraine’s alignment with European Union practices. Our COO Sini Suomela participated in the ORO Technical meeting held on June 27th in Lisbon, Portugal. The meeting covered a wide range of topics related to EU REACH and the obligations for Only Representatives. 💡 We would like to share some key topics covered during this meeting: i) The ECHA Enforcement Forum decided in their June meeting that their next pilot project will focus on the controls of Only Representatives concerning their obligations under the REACH Regulation. The aim is to identify free-riders and potential fraudulent economic operators. Inspectors will verify the accuracy of the registered tonnage band for each substance and ensure that Only Representatives maintain precise records of the importers covered, as well as compliance with obligations regarding safety data sheets. ii) There was extensive discussions about the ECHA decisions and the registrants' ability to change their tonnage bands during the decision-making process. 🚨 GB CLP update: GB MCL decision and updated list related to the 14th and 15th ATP to EU CLP 🚨 Important updates have been made regarding the classifications under the Great Britain Classification, Labelling and Packaging (GB CLP) regulation. The substances that had harmonised classifications introduced or amended in the 14th and 15th Adaptations to Progress (ATPs) to EU CLP now also have legal effect under GB CLP. Additionally, two substances have been removed from the list. These changes came into immediate effect on 26th June 2024.
