Privileged to share that our team MOD5G (consisting of Norshahida Saba, Amy Sokhna Sidibé, and myself) was selected as the 1st place winner during the Ultrahack #UnbreakableConnectivity Hackathon held at Nokia premise in Espoo. During the hackathon, we were proposing Modbus TCP simulator platform, which is able to perform scalable simulation of Modbus TCP traffic in 5G network in a scalable way, obtain latency measurement results, and adjust dynamically the network's quality of service on demand / QoD via Nokia's Network as Code API (NAC). This allows interested stakeholders, from network solution providers and end users to actually see how the 5G network behave and perform in handling Modbus TCP traffic under various conditions and obtain objective/quantifiable evidence in such conditions. Such simulation platform is fundamental as the industrial automation domain ("Industry 4.0") is looking to embrace wireless connectivity and distributed compute and automation (such as IEC 61499) architecture, where its crucial to obtain actual evidence of guarantee of timing performance in different scenarios to guide the stakeholders in making investment decision and the engineers who operate industry 4.0, industrial automation OT system that utilizes such network on how they should adjust the network to fit the need they are facing. It's important to have the possibility to observe and test accounting for widely-used communication protocol standard used in the domain such as Modbus, before the network is commissioned and even when the network is used and operational. Would like to appreciate the support of the mentors : Lauri Alho, Markus Heikkilä and also for the very supportive Ultrahack organizing team Madelin Kivikangas and her colleagues. Massive congratulations to the other teams participating during the hackathon, i was very impressed with all of the solutions presented - the level of creativity and quality is remarkable! Finally, would like to thank the colleagues in the Zero-SWARM and CloViC - Cloud Virtual Commissioning project, for the cumulative experience and inspiration that helps us to shape our thought during the hackathon.

Happy to Celebrate Another Achievement! 🏅 I’m thrilled to announce that last week, our team, Netfly (Nassim Sehad, Oussama BEKKOUCHE, and Abderrahmane Abada), won the 2nd place with 1500€ prize at the Unbreakable Connectivity Hackathon organized by Nokia and Telia at the Nokia HQ in Espoo, Finland. This incredible event challenged participants to integrate Nokia’s Network as Code API on Telia’s 5G SA network into innovative applications. Our solution, a UAV management platform, enables seamless control of drones from open-source to closed platforms like DJI through custom hardware. By leveraging the API we integrated: - QoS adjustments to prioritize control over sensor data for real-time UAV operations. - Device location at cell level as a backup in GNSS-denied areas. - Efficient video streaming in constrained bandwidth environments. Our platform demonstrated how 5G can elevate UAV operations, especially in remote or critical scenarios, ensuring reliability and responsiveness under challenging conditions. Thanks to my teammates, this accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of our team during an intense 48-hour challenge. A big thank you to all the mentoring team Lauri Alho, Pavel Garmuyev, Lepola Marko, Sami Lahtinen, Markus Heikkilä as well as Nokia, Telia, and Ultrahack for hosting this inspiring event and giving us the opportunity to showcase 5G’s transformative potential in UAV technology! #Hackathon #6G #5G #NetworkAsCode #UAV #Innovation #Netfly #UnbreakableConnectivity

Have you ever wondered how we can provide 5G in areas where it’s normally inaccessible? During the hackathon organized by Ultrahack in partnership with Nokia and Telia, we found a reliable solution for this using drones. Our project focused on extending 5G coverage by using drones as relays. By employing a chain of drones, we were able to deliver 5G signals to areas without access, providing users with the same experience as those in 5G range. We also leveraged Nokia's Network as Code platform to implement network slicing and enhance bandwidth. It combines innovation with feasibility, sustainability, and solid business prospects. I want to express my gratitude to all the mentors who guided and supported us, especially Lauri Alho , Sami Lahtinen, Pavel Garmuyev, Markus Heikkilä, Lepola Marko, and Miro Saarenmaa—for their invaluable feedback. I am also thankful to my incredible teammates Ahsan Zahoor Khan, Muhammad Safi, Mudassir Usmani, and Hasan Ali for their support. Although we didn’t make it to the finals, we gained valuable insights that will be useful in the future. A special shoutout to Madelin Kivikangas from the Ultrahack team for organizing this unforgettable learning experience and making it a fun memory for all of us! #5G #Drones #Sustainability #FutureTech #Technology #ProblemSolving #Collaboration #NetworkSlicing #IoT #DigitalTransformation #TechForGood #WirelessInnovation #TechCommunity #Engineering #TechLeadership #NextGenConnectivity #Nokia #Telia #Python
