The One Planet network implements the 10 Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (10YFP).
À propos
It is a global framework of action to enhance international cooperation to accelerate the shift towards SCP in both developed and developing countries. The framework supports capacity building, and facilitates access to technical and financial assistance for developing countries for this shift. The 10YFP aims at developing, replicating and scaling up SCP and resource efficiency initiatives, at national and regional levels, decoupling environmental degradation and resource use from economic growth, and thus increasing the net contribution of economic activities to poverty eradication and social development. The framework is meant to encourage innovation and cooperation among all stakeholders. Interested actors from all countries can be involved in the implementation of the 10YFP activities: government, private sector, civil society, researchers, UN agencies, financial institutions, and other major groups. 10YFP Objectives: - Accelerate the shift towards SCP, supporting regional and national policies and initiatives. - Contributing to resource efficiency and decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation and resource use, while creating decent jobs and economic opportunities and contributing to poverty eradication and shared prosperity. - Mainstream SCP into sustainable development policies, programmes and strategies, as appropriate, including into poverty reduction strategies. - Support capacity building and facilitate access to financial and technical assistance for developing countries, supporting the implementation of SCP activities at the regional, sub-regional and national levels. - Enable all stakeholders to share information and knowledge on SCP tools, initiatives and best practices, raising awareness and enhancing cooperation and development of new partnerships – including public-private partnerships.

🌿 🦊 Those who know me understand how deeply I love biodiversity. In another life, with better math skills, I dream of becoming an ecologist. In this life, I’ve settled for being an amateur photographer and an advocate for the urgent and multiple steps needed to protect our beautiful nature. I am honoured to be going as a delegate to COP16, what brings me the most joy is that we focus on this issue from a consumer perspective. Every day I have these frustrations 😫 as a consumer; most recent one; when I try to buy a non-plastic bottled shampoo and opt for a bar shampoo, I have to pay €7,51 more (8euros vs 0.49 cents) than the cheapest option in my supermarket—and I have to order it because it’s nowhere near where I live! And I am privileged enough that I can even allocate time, and money to try and make these choices. Not to mention safety; if I test myself, will chemicals of concern and permanent pollutants come up in my results? 🤔 By advocating for consumers, we are pushing for solutions that are safe, environmentally and health-wise, for you, me, and everyone—. I hope to live a long life filled with whale watching, mountain exploring, and nature photography, ensuring that future generations will also breathe clean air and avoid tragic horrific climate catastrophes. 🕵♀️ If you’re a policymaker wanting to know what our research shows consumers need from you, please ping me! 👔 If you’re a business looking to hear what consumers expect, reach out! 💪 And if you’re a fellow advocate or delegate wanting to better understand GBF 16 and how it interacts with other treaties like the plastic pollution treaty, ping me! Let’s meet on-site to discuss 🌍✨ I will be here at COP16 from 24th - 29th October, and speaking in the following events: 🗓️ Consumers and Nature: Making trade work for biodiversity and development 🕒 24 October, 11:25 📍 Place Quebec (Blue Zone) 📅 Momentum for Target 16: Enhancing collective action to reduce the global footprint of consumption equitably 🕒 28 October, 11:40 📍 Cocuy - Marie Khan Women's Caucus meeting room, Plaza One And you will for sure find me here as well : 📅 26 Oct - #TradeDay co-organised by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) FAO World Trade Organization. My colleague Ivana Padierna has been part of building this event and we are very excited to follow the discussions on Trade, consumption and sustainability. #Sustainability #Biodiversity #OnePlanetNetwork #SustainableConsumption #Ecolabels #COP16 #PazConLaNaturaleza COP16 Colombia, One Planet network - 10YFP, Consumers International, Bundesamt für Naturschutz, Forest Stewardship Council, UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) adelphi Jan Christian Polania Giese Ivana Padierna Laetitia Montero Matteo Mascolo Anakarina Pérez Oropeza Charlie Worthington Simone Wulf Bianca Brasil Michael Mulet Solon (Rights to the pictures are mine btw :P)
