Congratulations to Amelia Gould who has been appointed General Manager Maritime for the Helsing group, employing her deep expertise in maritime operations, industry and tech. Ned Baker, who has led our most critical operations in Europe, including support to Ukraine, is taking over as UK Managing Director to drive the next stage of growth in the UK. Together they will advance our work to secure the oceans, apply the lessons from Ukraine, and protect our democracies. Congratulations again to both!

Software increasingly defines defence, assurance needs to follow   Helsing’s mission has a clear ethical dimension: the importance of building technology to defend democracies, and the importance of building this technology the right way.   Today we are sharing a white paper that provides a proposal for the defence industry to formulate and adopt a model that we call software-defined assurance. Helsing at NATO Edge: Affordable Mass for the Eastern Flank   At the NATO Edge Conference, Helsing’s Managing Director for France, Antoine de Braquilanges, showcased how our software-first solutions deliver affordable mass—scalable and effective capabilities to strengthen NATO’s defence, particularly on the eastern flank.    Antoine also reinforced our commitment to trusted AI infrastructure for defence, ensuring ethical, reliable technology to protect democratic nations.    Helsing will support NATO with the tools needed to meet today’s challenges.

Helsing’s mass-producible strike drones use software and AI to provide autonomy while retaining full human control. Such autonomous and affordable systems will generate the precision mass needed to protect NATO’s Eastern Flank and deter future conflict.

During a two-day-trip to Ukraine, Dr. Charlotte Weil von der Ahe, Helsing's Director of Government Affairs, met with both President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz. Charlotte was honored to present the two statesmen Helsing’s HF-1 strike drone, a co-operation with Ukrainian companies. The drone can operate in EW environments, is mass producible and easily transportable. While the electronics and AI are developed at Helsing facilities, the airframe is produced in Ukraine. Financed by Germany and contracted through the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence the company is delivering thousands of HF-1s to the front lines. Helsing is making good on the promise we made to Ukraine earlier this year when we signed an MoU, committing to partnering with the local defence industry. Announcing HX-2 and Altra recce-strike - mass precision for the land domain   We are thrilled to finally reveal what we have been working on in the land domain: HX-2 and Altra Recce Strike HX-2 is a new type of strike drone: software defined and mass producible. HX-2 is capable of engaging artillery, armoured and other military targets at up to 100km range. Onboard AI ensures HX-2 is immune to hostile electronic warfare (EW) measures through its ability to search for, re-identify and engage targets even without a GNSS signal or a continuous data connection. The software stack of HX-2 is battle-proven, benefitting from extensive testing and hardening in Ukraine. A human operator stays in the loop for all critical actions. Altra is Helsing's Recce-Strike AI platform for the land domain. Altra intelligently connects artillery, mortar, ISR assets and strike drones (such as HX-2) to transform the accuracy, speed and robustness of modern land forces. Live data streams are integrated into a common operational target picture on ground stations, allowing operators to coordinate scaled kinetic campaigns in real-time, orchestrating indirect fires and strike drone swarms for controlled time-on target and saturation attacks.   We believe that Altra and HX-2 will be game changers for the security of NATO, by extending the capabilities of existing systems and combining them with mass precision.   For more information, read our press release: https://lnkd.in/eaK_mPi2 or visit our website: https://helsing.ai/hx-2

Helsing AI agent to fly Saab’s Gripen E   We are thrilled to share that Saab and Helsing will bring autonomous air combat capabilities onto the Gripen E. With a safety pilot in cockpit, Helsing’s AI agent will fly the Gripen in demonstration flights in an air-to-air beyond visual range combat scenario. This deepened partnership follows months of close collaboration between the companies on existing programmes and advanced R&D.   Johan Segertoft, Vice President and Head of Business Unit Gripen at Saab, told reporters at IFC 2024. "When we are talking about deploying [Helsing's] software in our aircraft in what we call Project Beyond, we are not talking about a separate computer. We are talking about something we are dropping into the heart of the Gripen – utilising all the data that we have and fueling that software in the actual Gripen E, not a test aircraft."   Helsing AI will fly the Gripen E "in an abbreviated timeline".
