Giving our employees the opportunity to volunteer for non-profit organisations! In 2023, SUEZ signed a Solidarity Commitment Charter to encourage all our employees in France to volunteer during their working hours or as part of an end-of-career transition programme. Last year, 900 volunteer hours have been donated through this programme: a unique opportunity to give meaning to one’s work and contribute to causes close to one’s heart! #SUEZSustainableStories

Strengthening our presence in Morocco with 4 new agreements! Announced by our CEO Sabrina Soussan during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Rabat at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, these agreements aim to further extend our support for the country's ecological transition in the water and waste sectors. ♻️ Promoting sustainable waste management in Rabat and Kenitra, following the example of the Meknès green landfill project. In partnership with the SOMAGEC GROUP and Jet Contractors, SUEZ will build and operate the new Oum Azza waste treatment and recovery centre. At the Kenitra waste site, SUEZ has been awarded the creation of a new treatment centre to promote the conversion of waste into local sustainable energy. 💧 Improving the performance of water networks with the Moroccan Safari Group by providing innovative digital solutions to optimise the management of water networks for regional multi-service companies. 🍏 Supporting water and waste research with the Fondation MAScIR and UM6P - University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, studying the treatment and recovery of organic matter and extending our partnership to water management, in particular desalination. This milestone reflects the commitment we have made to Morocco for over 75 years. Together with our partners, we look forward to being part of the country's long-term environmental transformation! #ecologicaltransition #wastemanagement #watermanagement #circulareconomy

An innovative new agreement to support the low-carbon transition of the transport world! Sabrina Soussan and Rodolphe SAADE, Chairman and CEO of CMA CGM Group, just signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the production of biomethane in 3 areas: 🔸The supply of biomethane to CMA CGM's shipping fleet from existing SUEZ energy-from-waste plants up to 100,000 tonnes per year between now and 2030, 🔸The development of production sites in Europe through an investment structure, 🔸 A joint R&D contribution to design innovative technologies for the production of biofuels. Decarbonising the transport sector is a significant challenge in limiting global warming and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The Group already converts 5 million tonnes of waste into energy each year, produced 382 GWh of biomethane in 2023... and we have no intention of stopping there. This agreement serves to demonstrate our commitment to this endeavour. #biofuel #biomethane #ecologicaltransition

Addressing the challenges of climate change in the water and sanitation sector in Europe. On behalf of SUEZ, Paul Bourdillon participated in the European Policy Centre's Brussels Dialogue "Strengthening water resilience for wellbeing and industry - The role for EU policies and investments". This conference was an examination of the environmental challenges in relation to water and how EU policies can contribute to water resilience in Europe. It was an opportunity to welcome the recent appointment of the Commissioner for Water Resilience, Environment and Circular Economy, the future Water Resilience Strategy announced by the European Commission, and the revised Urban Waste Water Directive to be finalised in the coming weeks. There was a clear recognition that climate change, with its associated water stress and excessive flooding, is forcing us to move from a logic of abundance to one of sobriety and preservation of water resources, especially in a world where European industrial policy is encouraging the development of water-intensive industries such as data centres, renewable hydrogen and electric vehicle battery production. At SUEZ, we are committed to providing our customers with access to water and sanitation services through resilient and innovative solutions that are readily available: 🔹 Encouraging and rewarding efforts to reduce water consumption, 🔹 Improving the performance of water networks (leak detection through AI, smart metering and other digital solutions), 🔹 Promoting alternative water resources, in particular wastewater reuse for industrial and agricultural customers, while preserving scarce drinking water resources, 🔹 Investing in sustainable desalination solutions with mineral recovery from brine according to local needs, 🔹 Supporting local capacity building in the water sector and seizing the opportunity for nature-based solutions. Veronica Manfredi, Director of Zero Pollution, DG Environment, European Commission, stressed that "we are just in time to turn the tide, but only if we use the best of our skills to massively support those who bring clean, resource-efficient, nature-positive solutions to the forefront". Paul Bourdillon emphasised that "the revised Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive will result in the need to upgrade many plants in Europe, which will lead to a much better quality of treated wastewater, thereby reducing waste pollution in the environment and creating an additional water resource. I would like to thank the European Policy Centre for organising this constructive event and my fellow panellists for the passionate exchange!

SUEZ India hosts its first Innovation Day! The event, held in Coimbatore and endorsed by the French Embassy, brought together SUEZ experts and key stakeholders to showcase our innovative technologies in water and wastewater management. Experts from government, NGOs, start-ups and academia came together to tackle the critical challenges of urban water supply head on. The Coimbatore Corporation Municipal Commissioner (CCMC) was unequivocal in acknowledging SUEZ's significant contribution to the city's uninterrupted water supply. The programme also saw: 🔬 the official launch of a cutting-edge research laboratory, a joint initiative between SUEZ India and the Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. This laboratory will develop and implement sustainable water solutions. 💡an awards session on innovation, celebrating in-house health and safety and business excellence projects. A great chance to show SUEZ teams’ unwavering commitment to operational excellence and sustainability. The first ever Innovation Day was a huge success, with customers from all over India getting involved. It's opened the door to some exciting new partnerships, allowing SUEZ to use its innovative solutions to help meet the growing urban water needs in the region. #SUEZInnovationDay

Cycling through a water plant in India 🚴♀️ Located in the capital city of Delhi, the Sonia Vihar plant is one of the largest single-phase water treatment plants in the country, serving around 14% of the population 💦. Covering a distance of approximately 2 kilometres around the plant, a vehicle was needed to enable the maintenance team to move efficiently from one unit to another, especially in the event of an emergency. Instead of a motorcycle, it was decided to provide 4 bicycles for the maintenance engineers and security guards to use on their rounds. This decision has had many benefits: 💪 Better health for the team, 🔇Less noise pollution as no motor vehicles are used, 🌍 Zero fuel consumption, resulting in significant cost savings ⏱️Quicker Time for the maintenance team to move from one unit to another A successful initiative by the team, which will now be replicated at similar or larger SUEZ sites across the country 👏 #SUEZCyclingStories
