In commemoration of World Youth Skills Day, we engaged young people in Kumasi, Ghana on the future of skills. This engagement was the second in-person session but the fifth in a series of engagements as part of the Ghana Futures of Education and Skills series, which aims to foster sustainable development by allowing young people to acquire foresight skills and effectively communicate their preferred visions of Ghana's future. Participants came together to develop a shared image of the future and provided recommendations for achieving that ideal future. Today, only 1 in 4 of the world’s young people are on track to acquire the skills they need to secure jobs. The issue of skills for young people requires urgent attention from all. However, it is critical to co-create solutions with young people and collaborate with them to implement those solutions. Engaging young people in foresight has proven to be an effective way to co-create such solutions, and we are happy to provide platforms like these, during which young people learn about foresight. In the coming days, we will develop the insights further and make them available to relevant stakeholders. #SkillsRightNow #YouthSkillsDay
