A vessel takeover is a blend of technical know-how, meticulous planning, and practical experience. It requires collaboration between multiple stakeholders and a deep understanding of the ship’s systems and operations. Drawing on insights from Anglo-Eastern’s seasoned professionals, Capt. Salil Chakravorty, Capt. Kerman C. Bharucha, and Chief Engineer Prashant Gaur, we have outlined the key stages of a vessel takeover process, from preparation to delivery. We are charting a course towards a greener future by introducing #hydroponic farms on our managed vessels, developed in collaboration with Agwa and our GalleyMasters team. Unlike traditional farming, hydroponics requires up to 90% less water and operates efficiently within the contained environment of a vessel. By integrating hydroponic farms on our vessels, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint while providing nutritious food options and enhancing the well-being of our crew. We are thrilled to announce the establishment of a new LNG/Ammonia bunkering station skid at Anglo-Eastern Maritime Academy (AEMA) in Mumbai as the newest addition to the dual-fuel centre at AEMA. Equipped with the latest cryogenic fuelling technology and safety systems, the skid is designed to provide hands-on training in the safe and efficient fuelling of LNG-and ammonia-powered vessels. The skid was inaugurated by Alexander Saverys, CEO at CMB.TECH on 20 February. Capt. Aalok Sharma, our Group Director of Training, highlighted that “as the industry transitions toward sustainable fuels, the need for well-trained professionals has never been greater. This new facility will equip maritime personnel with the knowledge and hands-on experience required to meet the challenges of LNG and ammonia bunkering.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gM8fRCrz #AngloEastern #MaritimeTraining #Ammonia #LNG

We begin this year by looking ahead—exploring new opportunities, refining strategies, and driving innovation while staying committed to a sustainable and future-ready maritime industry. In the last quarter of 2024, we marked Hong Kong Maritime Week with global industry peers, exchanging insights and fostering constructive discussions. Our commitment to sharing expertise remains strong, with active participation in key events and initiatives. We proudly announced our partnership with Four Seasons Yachts, managing the ultra-luxury yacht, Four Seasons I. Additionally, we've relocated our Miami and Singapore offices to Blue Lagoon and Labrador Tower, respectively, to enhance collaboration and strengthen our company culture. This issue of #LeaderShip covers these milestones and more, including a feature on the #cruise industry’s post-COVID revival, a conversation with Harald Klein, our COO - Europe, a guide to takeover procedures for newbuildings, and a look at hydroponic installations aboard our managed vessels.
