We are incredibly proud to recognise the outstanding crew of the Barbouni for their exemplary commitment to safety at sea during a recent rescue operation in the Gulf of Mexico. On October 21, the crew exhibited exceptional vigilance and teamwork, ultimately leading to the successful rescue of a distressed individual. As they approached the Florida Straits, Captain Kirk Saldanha and the crew spotted a hovering helicopter and quickly sprang into action. Assisting and coordinating with the U.S. Coast Guard, the Barbouni crew navigated challenging weather conditions, including high winds and large swells, to locate and rescue the survivor. The crew successfully threw down a pilot ladder to rescue the injured man from his damaged jet ski, pulled him to safety and administered medical aid onboard. Through their diligence and determination, the crew not only ensured the safety of the individual in distress but also showcased our core value: Safety First. Their quick thinking, effective communication, and unwavering resolve are a testament to the incredible training and teamwork that define our fleet. We extend our deepest gratitude to the entire team onboard the Barbouni for their heroic efforts to assist the U.S. Coast Guard and to Fleet’s office teams that give our ships 24/7 support. Together, we continue to uphold the highest standards of safety at sea. #SafetyAtSea #Teamwork #FleetStories

We wish our 27,000+ seafarers and our 1,200+ onshore colleagues a happy 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆! As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our seafarers remains at the core of our ethos. This is why the International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) 2024 theme of ‘𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁!’ resonates deeply with us. We continue to place strong emphasis on building a strong safety-first culture. In particular, our SAFER+ T-CUP programme continues to help seafarers with a defined set of safety protocols. Psychological safety for our seafarers and their kin remains crucial in maintaining a healthy workplace and we continue to provide support and education to improve mental wellbeing. The industry's growing recognition of the 'human element' in safety, exemplified by the SIRE 2.0 regime, underscores the importance of Fleet’s focus.
