The 12th Yao Foundation Charity Game was successfully held yesterday at the Asia World Expo. The cabin crew of Hong Kong Airlines had the honour of participating in the opening ceremony, cheering on the NBA and CBA stars on the court. After several exciting matches, the event concluded successfully. As the official sponsor airline of the event, Hong Kong Airlines was delighted to be a part of this wonderful evening. We have always been passionate about public welfare and charitable activities, and in the future, we hope to support more young people to join the sports industry and achieve their dreams!

Hong Kong Airlines is like home to me. Continuing my 12 years in HKA after a brief absence, I can tell HKA is where my sense of belonging sits.   Flashing back from the start of my adventure in aviation, Hong Kong Airlines is where my horizon broadens. After a few jobs in aviation, I joined the HKA Crew Operations team when the Company scale was relatively small, dealing with basically every matter associated with Crewing, from the Crew roster to the development of the Crewing System. Then, I moved on to other roles in HKA, where I was privileged to participate in different parts of this fascinating industry, managing Crew members’ qualifications, authoring manuals, certifying flight simulators, negotiating contracts and so on. I imagine HKA is the only company that can endow me with this all-rounded mixture of experiences, and I am eternally grateful.   It is a blessing that I have grown with HKA. Returning now to lead the Crew Management Section, while the company’s dedication to growth humbles me, I am glad to accept the challenge along with my more diversified and ever-friendly teams. Although the entire scope of Crewing Operations remains wide, HKA now has a more specialised team that handles a smaller chunk of the scope with more finesse. Basketball Talents Take Flight! As one of Hong Kong's major local carriers, Hong Kong Airlines remains committed to contributing to public welfare and nurturing the next generation. We were honoured to be the official airline sponsor of the “Yao Foundation Charity Game” 「姚基金慈善賽」, marking its highly anticipated return after a seven-year hiatus. To celebrate this partnership, we arranged a visit to HKATA for top players Mr Han Dejun (韓德君)and Mr Li Xiaoxu (李曉旭) from the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) and young basketball elites from the Yao Foundation Charity Game. The visit offered a unique opportunity for these athletes to learn more about the fascinating world of aviation. The visit included an insightful sharing session led by our experienced cabin crew trainer and a pilot. Guests had the opportunity to try their hand at flying in our Airbus simulator, taking the controls and experiencing the thrill of flight firsthand. Inspiring cabin crew safety and service training sessions were also demonstrated, aiming to deepen their understanding of the multifaceted duties of cabin crew. These demonstrations highlighted that the role encompasses comprehensive knowledge of safety procedures, exceptional service standards. Being a basketball player, much like being a cabin crew member or pilot, demands strong teamwork, discipline and outstanding physical and mental fitness. We believe that the dedication, collaborative spirit, and commitment to excellence required in both fields create a strong foundation for success. We can’t wait to see them playing alongside top NBA players tonight at the AsiaWorld-Expo!

Congratulations to our bowling team for winning the 1st runner-up in last week’s bowling tournament hosted by The Staffs and Workers Union of Hong Kong Civil Airlines! A team of four staff members from the HKA Flight Operations Departments demonstrated exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship, outperforming 40 other participating companies to bring home this impressive award. Competing in such a large field, like in all ball games, requires not only skill but also strong teamwork to support each other. Our team exemplified this perfectly. During the tournament, the team successfully bowled several strikes, clearing all the pins from the lane, and creating many uplifting moments. These achievements were the result of each team member’s hard work and passion throughout the competition. #HKAirlines #TeamSpirit #BowlingCompetition
