"Greentival Green Market" Recap ☘️ A big thank you to all the "Green Captains", and their families joining us in the "Greentival Green Market" at the Mills today! Everyone was filled with enthusiasm! We are privileged to invite, Professor LEUNG Wing Mo, Member of the Emergency Preparedness & Response Strategic Committee of the Hong Kong Red Cross as the guest of honor and Ms. Kay Tse and her daughter Kakaball as Event Ambassadors in the kick-off ceremony. Leading the other representatives from sponsoring organizations, they encourage the public to actively support environmental protection in response to the event theme, "Greening My Life, Greening the World". Kay also shared tips for practicing environmental protection with her daughter, Kakaball, who transformed old clothes into new children’s apparel and showcased it during the "Green Fashion Show" with the award-winning children. It is also delighted to present the 'Highest Fundraising Award' for the 'Green Captain Summer Programme' and the Sustainable Fashion Design Award for the 'Green Transformation'. Congratulations to all the winners for their hard work and dedication! The event features various eco-friendly game booths and green workshops, as well as charity sales and exhibitions, selling green products and introducing related services. The event also showcased a green art installation, themed "House of Love”, which was made by the eco-friendly fabrics and created by local sustainable fashion designer Kay Wong and the children, gathering the creativity of the Green Captains and was very meaningful! Environmental protection requires the participation of everyone. Through this event, we hope that everyone gains a deeper understanding of climate change and environmental protection, and together we can support the Hong Kong Red Cross in its efforts to address climate change! =============== We would like to express our sincere gratitude for our partners(in no particular order), including: Sliver Sponsors: CR Construction Company Limited, Mrs. Leong Kan Yu San  Bronze Sponsor: HOKA  Caring Company: Asahi Group Company Limited, HKR International Limited  Ocean Conservation & Education Partner: Ocean Park Hong Kong   Venue Sponsor: The Mills Gift Sponsor: Bunny Wonderland Limited, Cafe Match Box, Cats Tea Room, CEO House, Childlike, Joy in Art, KAWAI, Kingdom, Origami Kids Cafe, Otsuka Pharmaceutical (H.K.) 【Celebrating Inclusion at the Hong Kong Red Cross: Inspiring Achievements at the Paris Paralympics】   Today, we are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Hong Kong Boccia Team at the #ParisParalympics with our staff members and media partners! The luminous athletes secured an unprecedented three gold and two silver medals. A testament to both skill and spirit, all six team members are alumni of the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) Special Schools. This highlights the pivotal role our schools play in nurturing talent and promoting inclusive growth.    We were honored to welcome back three team representatives—Ho Yuen-kei,  Leung Yuk-wing, and Loung John —to share their inspiring journey and challenges on the world stage at our Headquarters. Their success exemplifies the resilience and determination that athletes with disabilities demonstrate, overcoming life challenges to achieve greatness and commanding admiration worldwide.    At the sharing session, we also had the privilege of hearing from Ms. Bonnie SO, CEO/SG of Hong Kong Red Cross, and Ms. Elaine WU, Executive Director of the China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee. They both underscored the importance of 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 in opening doors for more diverse opportunities and fostering potential among our students, regardless of physical or multiple disabilities. As Bonnie highlighted, "𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀."   Ms. Ho Yuen-kei also expressed her commitment to supporting future generations at HKRC Special Schools, aiming to cultivate more pathways for development for current students.    Loung John and Leung Yuk-wing, who fondly recalls playing ball in the school corridors during their student days, expressed gratitude for the school's understanding and support. The reduced academic burden allowed them the time to pursue their passion for sports, ultimately leading to their success on the international stage.    The Hong Kong Red Cross remains deeply committed to promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for all. Our Special Schools will continue to provide diverse learning experiences, encouraging all students to explore their interests and maximize their potential.    #HongKongRedCross #EveryOneMatters #SpecialEducationandRehabilitation #Inclusion #Paralympics #BocciaTeam #Diversity #CommunityEngagement

【Staying at the Forefront of Humanity, Red Cross’ Holistic Support for Frontline Medical Personnel】    Since last December, The Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) medical volunteers have participated in providing medical support in the Gaza Strip. HKRC has consistently provided comprehensive training programs and support for all volunteers involved in humanitarian work. Before their departure, we offer detailed briefings on the mission and safety protocols. After arrival, we also maintain close contact with them and provide remote mental health and psychological support services to ensure the well-being of medical personnel during their service on the front lines of conflicts. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) also deploys specialized personnel on-site to take care of everyone’s mental health.    The continuous conflict in the Gaza Strip makes rescue operations increasingly challenging, with frequent shortages of personnel and supplies.  Please support all selfless frontline medical personnel, and we also welcome those who are willing to join us as volunteers.
